Rare Rayman Pictures

I think it's a display. The background has been printed out from the game and the coloured in Teensies have been placed on top. It also explains the perspective of the image. I wonder if it was a display for a game expo, a shop window or just something built by a fan?

Wow, a Rayman Activity Centre game for the DS! In a bizarre yet brilliant way it appears like it was going to be based on Rayman 1 as well! Wish it wasn't cancelled, I like what I see a lot...
I have no idea how stumble across such amazing stuff Britta ;)!

Indeed, excellent finding Britta! :)

Hmmm, I wonder if that project got dropped, OR if there's an educational Rayman game under production for the Nintendo DS.

Is that the Magician's house? It looks way better than the Rayman Junior intro one.

I do believe it is - it's based on the one from the French Rayman Activity Centre games as opposed to Rayman Junior.
I think this makes the project even more of a curiosity, as it would seem despite being a recent development for the DS, it seems to be based on Rayman 1 !

Well his blogger comments appear to be open, maybe any French speakers out here might like to have a word?

Yes, I also am curious about that project. It has been years that Ubisoft does not make an educational Rayman game, probably since the golden era of Rayman.

It appears to be a remake of Rayman CP which was one of the two Activity Centre games that was made in France. I should maybe try and try them out someday, although there are two problems behind this:

1. Due to my limited knowledge of French I'd probably miserably fail at everything in the game ;)
2. I'm already currently awaiting a Rayman game from France, and it hasn't arrived yet :P

  • The Rayman 2 site that says Polokus is the father of the Teensies
  • The Rayman 3 site with a geographical map of the game’s levels
Both of these things are probably out there somewhere. Track one of them down, and you can have all of my Tings, as well as my immortal soul.

There was a picture depicting the parenting relationship between Polokus and the Teensies? I didn't know.

Now about the geographical map, the only thing I can remember about the European Rayman 3 website was the loading screen: it was like the background of Rayman 3 for GBA (Menu selection) and with a chainsaw sound effect.

I really hate myself for not print screening the European Rayman 3 site, because I know I've encountered the map you speak of there.

I’m not sure if this was presented as a picture or text. We only know about it from this list of trivia on an old Rayman fansite. Everything in the list is true (including a line about the People of Prhys, which was only confirmed recently, when I found reference to it in an old site on WebArchive), so I’m pretty sure that Polokus is indeed the father of the Teensies. The problem is that we have no concrete source.

Oh in that case I am in the same situation as you, because I do remember wandering around in Rayman Psychopath's fansite.

Sadly the ancient Rayman 2 website was back in 1999, I hadn't yet internet at that time.

Excellent news: I’ve tracked down the source of the rumour – or rather, a direct copy of the source. I think this is important enough to warrant its own thread...
