Re: Star Wars
Maybe it's a good idea to start a conversation along with the topic. Otherwise I might as well start a thread about Sonic, even though I have nothing to say about him.
Anyway, I'll be going to see the re-release of the Phantom Menace this weekend. I haven't watched that movie since it came out.

I own all the star-wars movies, although I don't really watch them that much. I still find the lightsaber battle between obi-wan and vader in a new hope ridiculous
Re: Star Wars
Come on, that duel is epic even without fancy choreographies.

Re: Star Wars
Obi wan spins for at least one second where Vader could easily have killed him, then he just randomly gives up and lets Vader kill him, and then he just randomly dissapears.. >_<
Re: Star Wars
It's all about the spin !!

Re: Star Wars
I can do that spin while under the influence of at least two bottles of vodka, which is sometimes what I feel the whole cast of Star Wars is xD
Re: Star Wars
You'd lose consciousness before you could finish the first bottle...

Only if you've not been used to it for a while hah.
Never tried to down a bottle of vodka though, burns my throat too much.

The 3D effects must be really cool, especially in the scene of the Tatooine planet race.RayFan9876 wrote: Anyway, I'll be going to see the re-release of the Phantom Menace this weekend. I haven't watched that movie since it came out.
I own the 6 DVDs of the saga.Rainbow_Dash wrote:I own all the star-wars movies, although I don't really watch them that much.
Re: Star Wars
You sir, I am afraid to say, have missed the point entirely. Who gives a shit about how they fight, it's the context that matters, and I guess the subtext but really this is a star wars movie and subtext isn't really it's strong point.Rainbow_Dash wrote:I own all the star-wars movies, although I don't really watch them that much. Anyway my point is that this fight holds a helluva lot more emotional context than that of any of the prequel fights, which would be ok if not for the total lack of decent characterisation. Lucas relies on flawless choreography and drawn out duel sequences in the prequels, completely forgetting that it all means nothing from a dramatic point of view when all the characters appear as of they are written by an eight year old.
Sorry
Rant over, but I will happily contest anyone that disagrees
I liek star wars

Anyone who thinks the prequels are good films should watch the RedLetterMedia review:

Interesting article. It suggests watching the eps in this order : IV V II III VI. And totally skip that piece of crap that is The Phantom Menace.

Re: Star Wars
Interesting approach. I think I'll try it out. I've been meaning to re-watch the series anyway, as I've never seen Episode II.

Really? The Clone Wars I personally found to be quite crappy. Nonetheless, do as you wish.DesLife wrote:And totally skip that piece of crap that is The Phantom Menace.
EDIT:
I meant Attack of the Clones.

Re: Star Wars
The Phantom Menace is a terrible movie. But I don't remember mentioning the Clone Wars.

Re: Star Wars
I was just pointing out that I think the Clone Wars is much worse than the Phantom Menace.DesLife wrote:The Phantom Menace is a terrible movie. But I don't remember mentioning the Clone Wars.
EDIT:
That would be Attack of the Clones.
