Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
Hi there everybody! This is my very first topic, in which im telling a very strong opinion of mine about Rayman. Read it carefully before replying!
According to some rumors, well probably see a new Rayman game in this year. I have a very strong opinion how the game should be made. I would really want that they would release the cancelled Rayman 4 of 2006 that was replaced by Raving Rabbids. Of course they could improve the graphics a bit and add something, but the main idea would be the same. Let me tell ya why.
The Rayman 4 was going to probably be the best Rayman game ever. Michel Ancel was the head of the development. The story had introduced some new characters including Raymans girlfriend. It was gonna be a real story of courage. In an intreview which was also on an finnish game magazine, Ancel said that Rayman has to save his girlfriend, his old enemies girlfriend as well as his old enemy (Mr Dark or Andre maybe).
In the same intreview Ancel also said that the player can explore the environments more freely and use different things. Imagine Rayman fans. You could return to Raymans beautiful world, like in prievous games, but this time you could really EXPLORE it and roam freely. Doesnt that sound great?
Rayman could also ride HUGE creatures, like a big eagle, an ennormous spider, a rhino. According to one soundtrack that Drolpiraat found, maybe even CARMEN THE WHALE!!! That will surely beat riding Moskito and The Walking Shell.
But one thing i hope is that they wouldnt chanche the enemy. I hope that they keep the original Rabbids. I know that lot of Rayman fans hate the Rabbids. I do too, but i mean the ORIGINAL ONES! You know the hairier and bitter zombie like bunnies, that were gonna be the real enemies. They are completely different, than the current Rabbids that even got their own series. They are not wacky, not annoying, not making the DAAAAAAAAAAH scream. They are evil, bitter and dangerous. They are actually pretty intresting enemies, because according to the GBA version of RRR and the games early description, the rabbids were originally very peaceful, but were bullied by wilder creatures. They couldnt take it anymore and started a plan that they were doing for a very long time, even before the events of Rayman 1. That makes them enemies that you dont actually hate right away, while other enemies of the series can be very hatable like Razorbeard and his Robopirates, because they were just EVIL! But the rabbids actually are evil because of bitterness. They want to revenge! That same feature actually made Reflux an intresting nemesis. He also wanted a revenge and that caused his enormous power and size in the final battle.
There are not just Rabbids in the cancelled R4. Theres also an Emperor Rabbid who was probably their leader. And the two ENORMOUS Rabbid ships. A Rabbid ship like that is the final boss in RRR GBA, so it might have been also final boss in R4. Imagine Rayman battling that GIGANTOR. I MEAN THAT TITAN IS BIGGER THAN BIG MAMA! THAT COULD BE THE GREATEST BOSS BATTLE IN VIDEOGAME HISTORY!!!
And i think that the wacky DAAAH Rabbids having their own series is not a problem. They are not the same. Ubi Montpellier can just give a different name for the cancelled rabbids. Like Bitter Bunnies instead of Raving Rabbids. And if thats not enough to separate these two rabbit kinds, Michel Ancel could redesign them to look even more bitter and scary. How about bunnies that are rounder and fatter and bigger and dark grey or brown in colour. And big eyebrows and NOSES! Then they will have NOTHING to do with the annoying, stupid, wacky Raving Rabbids!
My opinion about that i so strong, that i wanted to make it its own topic, instead of a reply. I WANT TO PLAY THAT GAME SO MUCH! I WANT!!! PLEASE MONSIEUR ANCEL!
Thanks for reading. Does anyone agree with me?

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
At SOME points it is similar to RotD.
I really want to see Rayman's girlfriend in real and the enormous "rideable" creatures. Moreover, the world that can be explored deeply; Rayman's World, that's really a beautiful and magical place. Of course it sounds great. I ain't against that the originally planned worlds and places would be used in this game/project.
I rather think that the Rabbids - wacky or not - they don't fit into Rayman's World. Even if they just wanted revenge due to people made fun of 'em - they' don't fit into this story. This is not about them. Anyway, how they did really get angry? It was peace in Rayman's world, there wasn't "any" people who could actually make fun of them. Didn't this makes you wonder that what kinda beings these wilder creatures was? It makes me wonder.
As inessential enemies they would appear; it doesn't count. As the supreme characters of the game - No.
This i my opinion.

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
I think the creatures that bullied the bunnies could be just some evil stupid ones that Rayman hadnt eliminated yet, because he wanted a break after many adventures. You know Rayman. He likes to chill out and sleep using Globoxs belly as a pillow.
But whats your opinion about a final battle with the enormous rabbit ship? Doesnt that sound impressive?
Anyway, thanks for replying.

It took me a long relaxing time to write this, but you're welcome.
I still wondering about what kinda creatures would make fun of them, AND from now on that why they wanted to make revenge on Rayman and his friends?
It's imaginative. But it was enough to take down that rabbit-robot in RRR GBA.Mammothphant 2 wrote:But whats your opinion about a final battle with the enormous rabbit ship? Doesnt that sound impressive?

Michel Ancel is as good in making games as Michel Lotito is eating bicycles, so im sure he had created some stupid bullying creatures. Who knows, could be Lividstones. They are stupid, evil, own bad hygiene, stink, dont eat anything except for garbage from trashes and probably dont find better to do than bullying peaceful creatures. They actually bully the Lums in Rayman Origins.

It is, but if i think about it deeply, then i think there shall be another rabbid-robot that's even more bigger.Mammothphant 2 wrote:The ship in RRR GBA was too small.

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
I don't think Michel would want to use the Rabbits concept again, I'm sure an interview stated he came up with the idea on the spot whilst being asked about the enemy planned for R4 '06.
Michel can come up with much better enemies than Zombie Rabbits for the real Rayman 4, if it is to be made.

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
There is actually one game where the ship is: Rayman Raving Rabbids Activity Center. And i will not stop playing that if theres not gonna be rabbit ship on the next Rayman. I know, its bit ridiculous to play an activity center because of one rabbit ship, but IM JUST AN ADMIRER OF THAT SUPERGIGANTICMEGATITANRABBITSHIP. Like Magician is admirer of Mr Dark.
Anyway, whats your opinion about the Emperor Bunny?
And whats your opinion about the music of the prototype, that Drolpiraat released?

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
The Rabbids would have been perfectly fine as Rayman enemies seven years ago, but at this point they’re too strongly associated with their own franchise, which in many ways is antithetical to the Rayman series. Including rabbits of any sort in a Rayman game would be a bad idea; I want to be able to forget that those party games ever existed. Complete separation was the best thing Ubisoft could have done. Some aspects of the Rabbids remain interesting (like the War of the Worlds-style machines), but they’re just not worth it. We should bury the Rabbids and move on.
If the original Rayman 4 really has been resurrected, I hope the developers are wise enough to excise all references to the Rabbids, and replace them with Mr Dark’s minions, Razorbeard’s Robo-Pirates, or brand-new enemies. The story will need to be reworked heavily; maybe Gabrielle Shrager could help. I’d also like to see them explore some of the early concepts illustrated by Guillaume Bonamy – particularly Picture City, which got shafted in Rayman Origins.

I concur, seeing Rayman 1 worlds in 3D would be a sight to behold, if the concept art is anything to go by.

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
The picture that i drawed with Paint is my example of how much more different the bunnies could be designed. I drew a 2 meters tall, very fat, more scary, dark grey coated bunny (with a nose) which i wanted to show you, but im gonna do it later when i learn to use Photobucket.
So Spiraldoor, you think that even the story should be reworked? Well i dont agree with you, but thanks anyway for telling your opinion.
But do you think the next enemy should be just EVIL and hatable? Wouldnt it be good if sometime there was an enemy with TWO SIDES instead of being just evil.
There are many who think like: "That R4 was cancelled a long time ago. Get over it" but i just will never get over it. Especially because of the rabbit ship.

Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
I agree with Spiral in honesty, if they would revive the original Rayman 4, I'd rather the Rabbids be replaced outright.
Enemies can be evil and likeable due to their charm, I almost regret dispatching every pirate I meet, and Razor is an evil character liked by many.
Though I assume you mean that you'd rather have Characters who have a motive for being evil.
But, perhaps the best thing for the series is to continue onwards from the "refresh" that RO gave it, rather than revisit the project which led to 5 years of limbo.

Whilst I have "gotten over" the cancellation of that R4, it still intrigues me as to what it could've been, and what potential it had.Mammothphant 2 wrote:There are many who think like: "That R4 was cancelled a long time ago. Re: Rayman 4 Bitter Bunnies
No matter how much the developers changed the Rabbids, almost everyone would still associate them with the party games. The two series made a clean break with Rabbids Go Home and Rayman Origins, and I’d rather it stay that way.Mammothphant 2 wrote:The picture that i drawed with Paint is my example of how much more different the bunnies could be designed. Well, I assume it will have to be. A lot has changed since 2005, and a great deal of lore has been added or altered by Rayman Origins, which has just introduced many new players to the series. The script for Rayman 4 will definitely have to be revised to take these things into account, and if they’re removing the Rabbids, that means they’ll have to come up with a whole new storyline.Mammothphant 2 wrote:So Spiraldoor, you think that even the story should be reworked? We just had a villain with two sides – the Magician. Since we dealt with a tragic and misguided enemy so recently, I’d prefer to see a more traditional villain next time. Mr Dark was hinted at by the posters near the end of Rayman Origins, which is why I suspect the developers plan on bringing him back soon.Mammothphant 2 wrote:But do you think the next enemy should be just EVIL and hatable? I don’t want to forget the old Rayman 4 prototype – I just want to forget the Rabbids.Mammothphant 2 wrote:There are many who think like: "That R4 was cancelled a long time ago. Get over it" but i just will never get over it. Especially because of the rabbit ship.

Indeed, I don't want any rabbids. They're silly and stupid (robo-pirates were awesome, hoodlums were passable - and only because of Rayman 3's silly style, otherwise they'd be better, but those rabbids are downright stupid), and most of all, associated with those horrible not-Rayman-games.

They should make a crossover game in which Rayman and his friends meet the Rabbids and cause mischief with them.
I'm kidding. But it would be a fun dream to have at night.

I see quite many of you would like to have Razorbeard or Mr Dark back. You know one thing that makes the Rayman series unique is that, theres every time a completely new main villain. In Mario games theres ALWAYS Bowser. In Sonic games theres always Eggman. But in Raymans world, theres always a new one.
I respect every opinion and of course i think youre all great, but it makes me a bit mad when no one agrees with me (except for Rayrobi in some parts)
But theres still many who could join this discussion.

I know. But they're associated with those silly, stupid rabbids. Therefor, and because, well, they're rabbids, which is silly itself, I don't want them. You didnt read everything i wrote in the beginning, did you? HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO SAY, I DONT MEAN THE SILLY, STUPID RABBIDS. I HATE THEM TOO. I MEAN THE EVIL, BITTER AND DANGEROUS BUNNIES!
