Are you going to see Prometheus in June?

Did I just see the pilot from Alien 1 in there? That must mean...

Ah yes, that was a good movie, especially since they took quite a realistic approach on the situation. Their crazy technical idea actually failed, which is a nice refresher from the constant victories you see other movie characters experience.

When I went into the threatre, I was hoping to hell it wouldn't be another underdog story. Thank goodness it was the complete opposite.

I saw Angels and Demons. A pretty interesting movie about the early rivality between Religion and Science, that I studied in HCA classes. I particularly liked the artistic references in the movie, namely to Gian Lorenzo Bernini and his works like Saint Teresa on Fire, Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi and St. Peter's baldachin.

Rofl, the novel sucks hard.

Saw Of Mice and Men (I had seen the play) and The Green Mile.

Even the book? I guess the book versions are better no? (Like almost always) It reminds me I've seen both Harry Potter 1 in book and movie, and in the movie it was scrapped the magic fire part in the near end of the movie.

I watched before yesterday the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. I never played his games, but the movie was entertaining. I would like to listen the opinion of a fan of the game series that watched the movie. (If there's anyone here who ever played Prince of Persia :P)

I watched yesterday the Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and I liked. It was only a pity being dubbed in Portuguese instead of being subtitled.

I saw Hugo. I thought it was a lovingly crafted love letter to film copying quotes from reviewing magazines FTW!, and it is one of the best movies released in 2011.

I’ve really grown to hate this phrase. Almost every single publication or film news outlet that has mentioned Hugo in the year since its release has described it as some permutation of ‘love letter to film’, ‘love letter to cinema’, ‘love letter to filmmaking’ or something similar. Very grating. Use your own words, everyone.

I know they are both the same thing, but I got surprised you telling that the whole novel sucked. Normally what happens is the novel being better than the movie version of them. If you say so.

I have. I've got to say that it sort of meets 50/50 between the movie and the game. One of the most interesting and awesome things in the movie was seeing the Sands of Time come to life, because it resembled the game almost to a tee.

I saw The Lorax. The reason I really liked it wasn't because it was an incredibly good movie (because it wasn't, it wasn't anything more than a feelgood animated story), but because it knew exactly what it was; it didn't try to be anything more or anything less, it achieved near perfection in its style. The artistry was engaging, the characters nicely written, the story was solid, the scenery and animation were fun, and it actually had some genuinely funny humour (unlike many other children's films that try way too hard). I can't think of any downsides to this movie at all, because like I said before, it knew exactly what it was, and it didn't try to be anything more than that. It left an smile on my face after leaving the theatre.

On a little reflection to Winnie the Pooh last year (I forgot to ever bring it up), I've got to say that it was a little bit of a letdown. Like the Lorax, it knew what it was, and it didn't try incredibly hard to be something amazing. But the problem there is that they seemed to go too quiet with it. In my opinion, Pooh's Grand Adventure was my favourite out of the whole franchise, because it had a bit of everything: humour, adventure, a fun story, varied environments, and it in the end, they found that their adventure was because of one small misunderstanding through the interpretation of a child's mind (they thought Robin was going to "Skull," and not "School." In the newest movie, they clearly combined elements of all the previous movies (which was really nice I must admit), but the problem lies in the fact that they didn't try anything new, in fact, there was far less content than its predecessors, and it was only about an hour long. It was nice, but I was really expecting a lot more when I heard that Pooh was making a comeback for the first time in over a decade.

Tigger, motivating himself as he's reaching for a vine over a cliff: "I'm Tigger and I can do this, I'm Tigger and I can do that, I'm Tigger, and I move as fast as... whipped... cream...!"
