Decided to check out Jak and Daxter. Not having played any game in this series while having played Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper just feels weird, so it's good to finally get rid of this weird feeling.

USER REVIEW: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

So yeah, first one in the series. I'm really liking it so far, especially when it comes to how open it is. It pretty much lets you run around and explore everything at your own pace, completing tasks in any order you want. It's much more difficult than I expected, but that's fine with me, as it treats dying the same way Rayman Origins does, letting you start over immideately while having tons of checkpoints. Only thing that really bugs me is this horrible minigame that I know I will eventually have to complete, which is a real shame. Otherwise though, I've been having a ton of fun with it. It plays well, it's charming and it's fun.

VERDICT: Would recommend! :)

Awesome to see you like Jak and daxter so far, a series right up there with rayman imo. Just to let you know in case you didnt from the second game onwards the games story becomes waaaay more complex and the series goes towards a more darker tone. Some people don't like this but MOST people do like myself, so I would love to hear what you think of number 2 when you get round to playing it :D

After seeing the E3 Far Cry 3 trailer, I'm playing through the first two again. It's been a long time.... I'm starting the first one tonight.

Skyward Sword can be a real bitch sometimes... or maybe I just suck at puzzles. Been playing trough the Dead Space series.

I actually lied a bit when I said I hadn't played any Jak game before, since I have played a tiny bit of the second one at a friend's house. It was very little though, so I don't really count it.

In any case, I'm going to finish this one before I get any of the others. About the darker tone, I'll see how I like that, though it really depends on how it's done. If it's like Rayman 2 I won't mind it at all, but if it's like Sonic 2006 or that weird Bomberman game, then it's likely bug me at least a little. But it probably isn't like that if most people really do like it.

Jak 2 is rather different in gameplay as well as tone, for one, while Jak retains his basic attacks from the first game, eco powers are gone, instead, you get the Morph Gun and Dark Jak.
Instead of collecting power-cells, you complete missions, and levels are placed in a large hub, where you can explore.

Yesterday night I achieved the 3 stars rank in Mario Kart 7! :D

It is missing now unlocking the remaining kart pieces and playing Time Trials.

Don't worry, it still has the charm and humor of the first game and a much better cast of characters :) But yeah id definitely say its similar to the jump from rayman to rayman 2, theres still alot of people who prefer rayman 1 but the vast majority saw rayman 2 as an improvement! Jak 3 actually kinda finds a balance between the two in a way and is my favorite entry in the series!!

Yes, it’s a very good game, but it seems that you and I are the only two people in the world who know about it.

I just played a little Rayman Origins today to try to improve my lums and time scores. :)
I'm also trying to play the time trials in Mario Kart 7. Heck, the Nintendo times are hard to beat. D:

What a pity.( Really good games are often little-known...

I also would recommend people to try out Gambys, but trying for real since the videos don't help to understand the gameplay mechanics at all.

Played a little Assassin's creed to get set for the third game  Also some Rayman GBC on the 3DS. It's so weird how bright and colourful it is with a backlight!
