Re: Rayman Legends
You're forgetting that for the first year Origins was announced we only knew that 2D and Rayman and Globox and boobs and shit. Then, E3 and some new info. Then Daily Bubble. I sincerely hope they won't release a load of information just before the game's released.

For the other five games, you are talking about small budget, I'd say of less than a million euro to make some of the ports, I'd estimate. So together I don't think we have a huge investment on the Wii U" - Ubisoft statement
Re: Rayman Legends
I fear one of the ports is the first Rayman Raving Rabbids according to IGN.

I'm not going to speculate what the ports will be, though I think a RRR port would be impractical since Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii games anyway.
But...that is to be seen.

Re: Rayman Legends
I don't see a RRR port good either. To be honest 5 ports is a prettu outrageous numbre of ports, isn't it?
Re: Rayman Legends
I don't mind about the ports. The only thing I mind is RUSHED ports.
Lets resume:
Rayman DS - Definitely rushed and the worst Rayman 2 port ever. Pixelized graphics, glitches that never existed in N64 version, almost unnoticeable music and badly programmed controls (I'm sure they didn't adapt them at all).
iOS - Scrapped the Globox Village for some reason. Where's the strafe button? Why Rayman is so hard to control? I know RayFan, you have a hidden knife behind your back!
Rayman 3D - Messed up textures and scrapped Globox Village again. Too much noisy music and almost unnoticeable voices and sound effects.

Re: Rayman Legends
Likewise, I do not detest porting.
But, Ubis bad track record with ports speaks for itself.

Re: Rayman Legends
Speaking of ports, I've gotten to the final boss in Rayman DS. Has anyone else managed to do so, don't even ask me how I got through The Menhir Hills it's been too long and I've forgotten (and I don't think I'd want to remember). The controls weren't so bad playing on a DS Lite, but mine broke and I bought a 3DS and playing it on there is TERRIBLE! I think we can blame DC studios for this awful port, it just makes me wonder how Ubisoft would have tackled this one?

Re: Rayman Legends
I'm pretty sure a Rayman port will happen. Not sure about Rabbids, It's only 6 years old and been on the Wii? Then again, Rayman 2 got ported every pretty much every single year.
Makes me wonder if Rayman 3 HD is the start of a new port library.
Haruka, let's not forget that the playtime for Rayman 3D can be extended by 40 full hours if you want to explore all the glitches. My largest finds are getting hurt by touching a sign, invisible bombs (Though I heard that's common), the camera going wherever it wants to go, and standing inside walls.

Holy mother of fuck. You are a gaming god. I think I had a good 10 hour play time on Rayman DS and never beat the second fucking level.Rayfanboy wrote:Speaking of ports, I've gotten to the final boss in Rayman DS. Re: Rayman Legends
I cannot believe how there can be more then one person to have ever gotten to the final boss. You people must have extreme patience, because the controls just make me want to puke.RayFan9876 wrote:Well of courseRayfanboy wrote:Speaking of ports, I've gotten to the final boss in Rayman DS. Re: Rayman Legends
The controls weren't the problem for me, the 400 ms delay was the real problem. I calculated it when I got to the Iron Mountains.
Am I the only one who has no problem with any sort of controller except the PlayStation ones?

Re: Rayman Legends
Raymand DS is too stiff. You can't walk freely like you're supposed to be able to do. Since the game was programmed upon that control, having to jump somewhere far is bloody hard. It's so stiff I at first had trouble making the jump in the Woods of Light.
Re: Rayman Legends
I didn't have much problem with the controls, other than the D-pad hurting my thumb after a while.. (play it on the 3DS!)
Re: Rayman Legends
I seriously recommend playing Rayman DS in a DS Lite: the your left thumb thanks you and approves.Acarr wrote:I didn't have much problem with the controls, other than the D-pad hurting my thumb after a while.. (play it on the 3DS!)
I guess it would give the same effect in a DSi/DSi XL.
By the way, the game looks even worse in a 3DS.
Re: Rayman Legends
That game can be any worse? What does it look like on the 3DS? A fucking Atari game?Haruka wrote:By the way, the game looks even worse in a 3DS.
Re: Rayman Legends
Pixels + scaling + blur = Do the maths
Re: Rayman Legends
Meh, Rayman DS looked awful anyway.
