Sly Cooper

I tried once the second game and I liked. I am considering in getting the games for PS2.

:o Or you could get the HD remake?
The ps2 version is better for collector purposes.

Did I tell you before that I'm a collector? ;)

I can eventually get the HD game later.

But think of all the wonderful trophies!!

I skipped the recollection, just replayed the originals.
All great games, the second in particular strikes out best in my opinion. Wonderful design of gameplay, art, music and script. And the way all the elements mesh together creates a fantastic experience throughout.

To be honest though im always a bit pessimistic when a series changes development teams, so i held my breath for the newer one, but from the stuff i've seen of it i might be inclined to change my mind.

My PS2 needs more usage, which means it needs more games. All the games that work on it and I have are all completed already!

Sly Cooper is the only one of the PS2 platforming trio that I never tried out, footage does look interesting, but I'd like to try it out myself before coming to any conclusions, is there a demo for any of the games on the PS Store?

I don't think so.

The Sly I've tried before was Sly 2. I quite enjoyed the Portuguese dub they did to the game, it was well made and gave the feeling of a (good) cartoon show.

Well speaking of Sly I believe Sly 4 came out... or maybe I'm thinking of the demo.
I do intend in perhaps looking towards it in the future. :)

Believe it or not, the first Sly Cooper game I EVER played was Thieves in Time. The latest one. And this was recent too. That ended up leading me to try the other three as well. Love them all, this now remains as another one of my fav's. And dang it, I'm not good as Sly in Playstation Allstars. XP

It's out in the U.S., but not in Europe or Australia until later this month, possibly next. I have played it, it is a very good game, not as good as 2, but better than 1 and 3. It stays true to the originals, unlike most sequels of PS2 era games these days...

True words of wisdom. I fully agree with you with both statements.

So the Sly Cooper movie just got announced today, it's being made by the same guys who are handling The Ratchet and Clank movie. I think it looks pretty good despite Murray lookinga bit lackluster. I hope either Sucker Punch or Sanzaru are handling the writing like Insomniac/T.J Fixman is with the R and C film.

Ah, just as I read it on Kotaku, you beat me to the punch. Yeah, fascinating, no doubt that'll raise a few voices in the Jak camp.

Yeah I really hope they make a Jak and Daxter film after these 2. I remember reading somewhere that Sony wants films of those 3 franchises as well as some of their more realistic IPs such as Heavenly Sword and God Of War which are being adapted to movies as we speak. Hopefully they don't all turn out shit, though I think making them animated and getting writers/ voice actors from the games involved is a really smart move and gives them a lot of potential.

Oh cool I never heard about that, I do recall people talking about an Uncharted movie that kept getting rewritten, as well as Sony establishing a domain for The Last Of Us movie :P
