Re: Rayman Legends
Interesting details. So far I'm enjoying more the background music of RL than in RO, it sounds less sillier.
Re: Rayman Legends
I agree, the non-rock background music has improved quite a lot because of the very reason Haruka said above me.
I must admit I love the background music on the outdoors of Teensies in Trouble. Looks like I can look forward to ripping that

Well, it's pretty much like Origins, it has it's strong points and it's weak points, though I'm still worried about the gimmicks... if you're not playing with Murfy THE FLYING FROG... then are you supposed to stop, look at the screen and move a platform? I also heard on the Irate Gamer's interview that in some phases you can blow on the screen to perform some actions x_x

Re: Rayman Legends
I heard that there were supposed to be multi-player only levels that you have to unlock.sergiomonty wrote:Well, it's pretty much like Origins, it has it's strong points and it's weak points, though I'm still worried about the gimmicks... if you're not playing with Murfy THE FLYING FROG... then are you supposed to stop, look at the screen and move a platform? Also, am I the only person who thinks that Castle Rock is the most awesome thing ever?
Re: Rayman Legends
I can hope for a PC port, at that time I'll be hyper.

Re: Rayman Legends
^You're not alone, I love it too. The rest of the rayfans hate it because it destroys the charm of the original innocent Rayman... apparently 6_6 ... I won't judge them, they have more experience in Rayman games than me (I've played all of them like... 2 years ago, but I didn't grow up with the franchise). I think for them seeing Rayman performing air guitar with rock as background music is like seeing mario wearing these clothes during an entire level:Bionichute wrote:I heard that there were supposed to be multi-player only levels that you have to unlock.sergiomonty wrote:Well, it's pretty much like Origins, it has it's strong points and it's weak points, though I'm still worried about the gimmicks... if you're not playing with Murfy THE FLYING FROG... then are you supposed to stop, look at the screen and move a platform? Not that having that perspective is bad, I know that nostalgia-breaking feeling...

Re: Rayman Legends
Even from a non-Rayman standpoint, I find Castle Rock rather embarrassing. The craziness, the loudness, the overly retarded characters, everything about it just feels like a Saturday morning cartoon. It doesn't feel badass, it feels cringeworthy because it's trying too hard.
Re: Rayman Legends
I don't dislike Rayman performing air guitar with rock as background music at all, but I agree with RayFan, the craziness just doesn't fit. I don't like the music either, not because it's rock but because of the "goofy" vocals which are just annoying to me.
Re: Rayman Legends
I just watched the video, and I'm definitely impressed, I love the direction the soundtrack is going in and they really have fleshed-out the Teensies In Troube stage (but what happend to Catch 'Em All). Rayman's voice does sound like how he did in Rayman 2, particularly the french version with the real-laugauge voice track. And I admit it, I like the Castle Rock stage.

Re: Rayman Legends
Indeed. And of all places, a castle? There's being creative with themes, but you can't just slap two completely random things together and expect it to make sense. It sometimes works by fluke, but this here is an example of how it doesn't work properly. It sort of... half works... but ugh.Drolpiraat wrote:I don't dislike Rayman performing air guitar with rock as background music at all, but I agree with RayFan, the craziness just doesn't fit. EDIT:
I don't know if this is a bad thing or not, but it seems pretty much like those who like Castle Rock are relatively new to the series, and those who dislike it have known the series for a very long time. Is anyone more right than anyone else, or are they all just opinion with no valid points?

Re: Rayman Legends
Oooooooooooh...
I see...
Hopefully this is the only level featuring this and the rest of the levels will experiment with different features (the beanstalk level, for example, experimented with the drastic change of the environment). At least Rayman's crazy attitude was toned down a bit for this one... he no longer has his childish "Yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh!" but a pretty badass "YEAH!". Also, it makes me glad to know that he now makes an heroic pose, instead of that awkward erotic dance from Origins.

Re: Rayman Legends
By the way, I was looking on the back of my Rayman 2 case for dreamcast and one of the features it lists is "internet downloads" what exactly were they?

Re: Rayman Legends
Why didn't you ask that in the Rayman 2 topic?

Nope, I love it and Rayman is my childhood hero. I'm glad they're doing something new and fresh and the silly voices put me a big smile on my face.RayFan9876 wrote:I don't know if this is a bad thing or not, but it seems pretty much like those who like Castle Rock are relatively new to the series, and those who dislike it have known the series for a very long time. Re: Rayman Legends
It is the same thing for me, the exact reasons. A Saturday morning cartoon as Rayfan said. (No wonder why I don't find worth getting up early to watch cartoons contrary to 10 years ago)Drolpiraat wrote:I don't dislike Rayman performing air guitar with rock as background music at all, but I agree with RayFan, the craziness just doesn't fit. And also remember that the song is a cover of "Black Betty", the first part of the song is pretty much the exact same thing (except the voices of course).

Re: Rayman Legends
Teensienian. The voice is similar to the one in the Magician dance cutscene in RO.

Re: Rayman Legends
^ Yeah, Lividstones now speak Teensenian XD... and Teensies speak Electoonian, didn't you notice? o_O they changed the "yeeeh, thank yo'" for a voice similar to that of the electoons.
