When I was 7 I got stuck here too, also with Axel :mefiant: and I ended with Jano before my computer crashed and my R2 CD disappeared....I beat that game this year. Late, but earlier I couldn't.

I should replay this game... I think the reason I stopped is because I had just beaten the Cave of Bad Dreams when I accidentally stepped on the power chord. :oops2: Then I was too lazy to play all that again.

I remember my first time playing Rayman 1, 2 and 3, and they were all probably the best moments of my life. Rayman 2, the awaited sequel to Rayman 1, was thrilling and amazing to play through. I remember especially being captivated by the magic of Whale Bay and the second Sanctuary.

How do you get stuck at Axel though? He's the easiest boss in video game history, I kid you not, even easier than Umber. Just getting on his head I found to be a challenge compared to Axel because of how awkward of a jump it is.

When you're younger, you may have trouble hanging on to the Purple Lums. I had this myself, because his attacks kept whacking me off. I remember it took me a while to get to him. Nowadays I feel bad that it doesn't take me quite as long - that would've been more fun.

And the jump's not that bad, but I guess I'm pretty ace at platforming, so that counts.

What I find odd is it looks like since I upgraded to my new computer in 2007, Axel started to hit Rayman, while in my old computer he couldn't...

Strange... I remember that Jano's jaws used to fill up the top and bottom of the screen perfectly, but nowadays, there's a border around his mouth where it doesn't cover the screen. It's not too bad, but it ruins the immersiveness of the moment.

I don't think I've ever been hit by Axel. His attacks never go anywhere near Rayman, you pretty much have to try really, really hard to get hit.

You have to hang on a Lum for longer than you need to to get hit by him. Or you have to be not on a Lum at all. He's not too good at predicting where to fire in order to hit you when you're swinging, but he's pretty accurate once you're on the ground.

I... I think I was better at videogames when I was little... I can't manage to beat Razorbeard and when I was a little kid I replayed it for fun  I suck

I used to be able to play the didgeridoo when I was little. Not anymore I don't.

So thumbs up for little kids!

Axel is actually pretty random when it comes to its projectile attacks. On my PC version, I got used to him targeting the lum and doing nothing to it, but sometimes he targets Rayman apparently, and I have vague memories of bond breaking after projectile hit the lum - could be making this up though.

Meh, I've noticed that constantly swinging on a lum does give Axel ample opportunity to score a hit, regardless of the constant motion, hence, I try to be quick when swinging across.

Actually not, you just have to zigzag and in return play it unsafe with jumps; which is not a bad idea because it's hard to fall off the arena.

And even if you do fall, you instantly respawn. And if you're out of Energy, your Game Over resets you at the same respawn point with full Energy, so there's no dire consequences even so.

Really? You don't have to do the slide again? I thought the Tomb of the Ancients was the only level that bent that rule.

Well, perhaps an experiment is in order, I was pretty sure you get respawned back to the beginning of the slide if you lost against Axel.
