Re: Rayman Legends

Eh, Haruka, just let them do what makes them happy. If openly complaining and signing petitions is what makes them happy, then so be it. Things will probably quiet down by the end of the month anyways. From what I'm gathering, the reason for the delay might actually be the fault of one of Microsoft's shitty policies, and if that's the case all I can do is shake my head. Yes, it's frustrating, but I wouldn't want 360 owners to get skipped over just because the company that makes the only current console they own (or their preferred console, for that matter) has horrible publication policies. The game was bound to be ported sooner or later, it just happens that trying to go Nintendo exclusive at the start proved to be a problem for releasing a port on a different major console down the line.

It doesn't seem like Ubisoft is willing to reconsider releasing it on its originally planned release date, so the petition is pretty much useless at this point. It was a nice thought, though.

I'm still quietly hoping the sales don't go through the floor when it finally is released. The amount of other games being released around September is enough to make that a legitimate concern.

In that case unhappy Wii U users should complain to Microsoft, if that policy rumour from them is true. *Shrug*

I'll just sit down and wait for the game. Until there I have other games to play.

I finished Munch HD before yesterday. I indeed saw texture glitches in the Dead River, and some cinematics are shown in black but still playing with sound.

I think they deserve the sales go down for this. I'm not gonna go all psycho bitch at Ubisoft, but I think they really do deserve it. Many people bought Wii U for Rayman Legends and now they did this. They did such a horrible thing to those people.

They deserve it? Why?

I mean, Ubisoft isn't hanging just on Rayman. If sales don't do well, that doesn't hurt the company much but it does harm the series and developers itself.

Thinking allowed.

Ubisoft might deserve poor sales, but the developers behind the project and the franchise itself doesn't. Sadly, it's a lose-lose situation. I support the developers and the franchise far more than I support Ubisoft, and as such I still plan to buy the game. Just like the game, however, my purchase is going to be significantly delayed.

@Haruka:
Unfortunately, I think Microsoft is a lot less likely to listen than Ubisoft is. At least Ubisoft kind of acknowledged the backlash. Microsoft's heads are too far up their asses to hear peoples' complaints.

And yeah, Munch HD is really buggy that way. If you notice any other problems that I didn't list previously I'd suggest reporting them so JAW can add that to the list of things they need to fix. I hope you enjoyed it even with all the issues, though.

I played the normal port for PC before and it hadn't any glitches.

People will call me a bitch now but if they also bought the console in purpose its their problem too. Then why they bought it much before the release of the game? To tell friends and neighbours they have a Wii U, to look cooler? Or were they fearing that at the release of the game both consoles and games would sold out in a finger snapping?

I think only Stranger's Wrath port was the one that had issues on PC. Munch's port didn't have problems but the HD remake is full of them.

That's a nice gesture towards the fanbase. I'm curious as to what the folded corners had to say.

Maybe it's wise to not spend a bunch of cash on a new system and game on the same day/week/month when you have other more important responsibilities like bills and emergencies.

That's what I thought when someone mentioned the 'it's an economic crisis' aspect of this whole argument. However, I can understand why anyone in that position would still be cross.

Have I said yet how happy I am they are now bringing Legends to a console I have myself? Hm. I'm really happy they are now bringing Legends to a console I have myself.

I'll uh, just pitch in here. I too agree with this notion, even if it seems like the PS360 ports would end up being more like Origins, I'm totally down with that. More Origins is fine by me, I liked that game so much anyway.
At this point, I'm just hoping that the game does well enough to at least sell as well as Origins did, though preferably even better, to warrant a new title.

Yeah, well, I mean Ubisoft deserves poor sales. Shame they will not care anyway because they have more games and franchises. But I don't know, that was just stooping really low.

As much as Ubisoft doesn't deserve our money for the move they pulled, you can't not agree that the devs do deserve that money, and supporting Legends could be the only way of getting the Rayman franchise back up and into shape.
Still, we've had like, at least a week or so of non-stop anger and irritance at all of this WiiU/port nonsense. Can't we all just quieten down on this now and go back to speculating about the game? I think we can safely say that any complaining now isn't going to change Ubi's plans. Hell, especially not if the developers are complaining as well and Ubi's pushing onwards anyway.
Why don't we talk about that feature they had before which was kind of like Skylanders, where you could put a little figure on the gamepad and it would change something in game? Do we still know what's going on with that? Or maybe if it'll be included in the ports as well, somehow. Like through DLC or something. Could we talk about that, maybe? Just maybe? Please?
Pl-Please don't hurt me... I'll just go and hide now.

Oh dear.
Welp, I came here for discussion, but I suppose I'll just recede back into my cave and hibernate for a couple of months.
*Hides*
Let me know when everyone's just gotten back to discussing the actual game or something!
