Dear everyone:

Post by plotlineplus »

I just wanted to take a moment to say that Rayman may have the greatest fanbase of all time.
You guys are positive, intelligent, understanding and supportive of those who deserve it. (And sometimes, those who don't.)
There are so many drastically different opinions over the franchise's long history and the many directions it has taken.
But it seems as though most of the Pirate Community members are excited to learn what other people think.
Grant it, I haven't been to involved in this forum. But those who take it seriously seem to be 'pretty dang awesome' in my books.

So keep it up Rayman fans! Show those DMC/Sonic fans who's boss!

I agree! This is probably the greatest fanbase I've ever happened across, partly thanks to our administrators allowing us to do whatever the hell we want, of course, and what do you know, the community can basically run itself.

Making this an "us vs them" thing doesn't seem like a very constructive path, but yes, as far as kids' video game forums go, this place is pretty great.

It wasn't meant to be an "Us v.s. Them" scenario so much a congratulations. Being a fan of both of those series, it's always saddened me to look upon the negativity they produce. The Rayman franchise however, seems to be a source of productive inspiration as opposed to pretensions obsession.

(And as for starting a new thread, sorry I keep doing that! D: I just hate inturupting other peoples converations!)

Considering that many topics go out of their subject when there hasn't been anything new about it for some weeks, i don't think you are interrupting them. But yeah, a comment can become invisible if left in an animated conversation on a topic.

Thanks for the compliment! I must agree that the Rayman fanbase is pretty good compared to other fan communities I frequented before, that weren't that welcoming and good at all. It gives me more reasons to be present in this community.

I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again. Joining this community was the best thing I think I could have ever done. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that it helped me get through what I personally saw as a really tough year, which I couldn't have gotten through without all of the awesome people right here in this forum. c:
I've made quite a few friends, a number of which I now know really well, and even those whom I don't know as well are still more often than not a joy to interact with when we do get talking. It always feels like I'm part of one great big happy family here, and sure we can have our squabbles every now and again, but we mostly look out for each other and stay as an awesome community.
So yeah, I'd like to add in my thanks along with Plotline's. I love this community and hope to see it continue to thrive in such the same way as it already has for the past 10 or so years now.

I know, but you can't let something/someome like that bother you.
This should just be a gathering place for gushy Rayman fans to let out some of thier Ray-lated steam.
Maybe this Dark-Kitty person is legitimately messed up. But this forum is not about him/her.
It's just a forum. And you can't let yourself regret joining something so trivial.
Rayman is just a silly game, and something we all can enjoy together.

Just put her on your foes list and you'll never have to see another post from her again! :D

But seriously, I doubt you'll find a more friendly community anywhere. The way people handle each other here is amazing - even the sarcastic or would-be hurtful comments are received as a joke and treated as no less - as well they should be. What's the point of raging about one little sentence that might tick you off for an instant, but could actually be considered funny in another.

Anywax, I'm glad to be part of the RPC and I hope it likes having me too. ;)
(Or maybe I'm just one of those nuisances that you secretly really wish gone lol)

Yeah, I mean one thing that this forum has going for it is simply that the Rayman series in general provides nothing to fight about. These games just represent the best parts of all of thier fans and bring out very few negitive side effects.
Yes, the series has taken radical changes for better and for worse, but it's only made the fanbase stronger. Though we have nostalgia for these great games,it's realistic, not based around a vicious cycle of hype and disappointment.
I guess... I'm actually really tired an I'm kinda talking nonsense. XD

You just try to find everything negative on everyone's post, don't you? come on, Spiral, cheer up, man. :mryellow:

I don't think he actually meant the "us vs them" literally, but tried to demonstrate that we're a better fanbase, not because the franchise is better, but because we're more controlled, cheerful and clever. Have you seen how hostile are all of the Sonic forums? People there are mean, even if you just have a different opinion; they don't like change, and keep complaining about everything. They are stuck in the past, saying that they won't buy a game if it doesnt' have a chao garden. They're one of the biggest roots of console wars, they just complain THAT MUCH. Some of them are furries, and have OC's way worse than those fanarts with Rayman wearing jeans, and use to SHIP a lot some characters with others. And most of them are there just to feel that they have the perfect opinion, not to make actual friends.

I'm not trying to generalize, because there are some GREAT Sonic fans out there who happen to be very intelligent and awesome, but I'm talking about the great majority.

I found this fanbase to be the most comfortable, it's just so fraternal! I know we discuss, but it's because of normal disagreements, not because we're little kiddies fighting over pointless stuff that will drive us to nowhere. People have been friendly to me even despite the fact that sometimes I act like a jerk, and I truly appreciate that.

I love you guys  .... except you Spiraldoor, you're a douchebag ....

Just kidding, I sort of not-dislike you <3

I still don't understand why people mock Spiral so much. Did he go to your bedrooms and scattered posters of ponies?
