English with Rayman - Polish Edition

Hello everybody :winkgrin:

I have been using the RaymanPC site for quite some time now (especially RayTunes - what a gem!) and I decided to register to show you what I found in my old boxes with shi... unnecessary outdated products:




A fully functional copy of polish version of the Rayman 1 spinoff/mod English with Rayman for PC (DOS/Win95). The original title is Rayman uczy angielskiego, which briefly translates to Rayman teaches English. There were two versions produced - Level 1 (easy) and Levels 2+3 (harder, this is my copy).

On the cover it's said for children in age from 8 to 14 y/o and I got this when I was 3, in 1998 (that was my first Ray game) so I kind of sucked, not knowing my native lang well not to say english!

I can provide you an ISO file if anybody would be interested :P - it contains the game and a soundtrack recorded in CD-Audio (WAV 16bit 1440kbps) format covering some of the songs from original Rayman 1 available in RayTunes. Works on Win7 64x under DOSBox :mrgreen: However I am leaving my home on Sunday (holiday, the most obvious reason :) ) so don't expect the ISO download until 28/08 :wink: Not anymore, it's already here :wink:

I posted it here because I wanted to give something back for 2,4GB of bandwith I ate in RayTunes, thank you again for these! :D

Oh yeah, I still have this. Doesn't work for anymore though. Good game imo.

Very nice find, I've never played this game, my only Polish Rayman game was Rayman Teaches Polish and Maths.
 
I didn't expect a feedback so fast so I decided to move my fat ass and upload it now ;)

Firstly, the instructions for people who didn't use DOSBox before.


Software you will need (google it :) ) - DOSBox and DAEMON Tools/MagicDisc

1) Create a special dos folder in C: drive (or other drive of your choice) [for example C:\dos ]
2) Mount the image file in Daemon/MagicDisc
3) Run DOSBox
4) Type the following (the *enter* sign means you must press it, replace X with your emulated cd drive letter)

mount d x:\ -t cdrom *enter*
d: *enter*
install.bat *enter*

The graphical interface should show up. Here comes the translation:

INSTALACJA - installation
DŹWIĘK - sound
WYJŚCIE - exit

Select INSTALACJA, then wait a minute as the program is scanning the cd content, choose the first option (Extended install with video) and accept the following screens. It will take a while but believe me, it's worth it. As soon as the installation is finished, choose DŹWIĘK and KARTA DŹWIĘKOWA (sound card). For me SoundBlaster16/AWE32 worked. To check if the sound works, click Test Dźwięku (sound test). Listen and press enter, if you heard the sound click Test dźwięku udany. If not, get the second option.

After the sound is set up, choose GRA.

Select start, create your profile. When prompted about POZIOM TRUDNOŚCI (difficulty level) choose the one you like (3 is harder, obviously). As soon as the video ends, I think you will be able to play without any further explanations.

If the game is running too fast/slow try to change the CPU cycles with Ctrl+F11 and Ctrl+F12. Full screen code is Alt+Enter. Have fun!

I believe the majority of the active members know how to use DAEMON (I personally use it) but thank you anyway. ;)

If someone is interested I can patch that Learning Game with the same technic as I used for my Mega Patch. I can also share with you French learning with Rayman for Beginners, English Learning with Rayman for beginners and continuer, german and maths for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class. All games are German releases.

EDIT: Links are dead. Could you please upload it on mediafire or dropbox?
 
The version I would be looking for would be Learning French with Rayman but in English edition. I think people would be interested to see a patch in the learning games too. ;)

Help me with the game! when i run install.bat and then go to "gra" dosbox always ends up in this:

Please insert Rayman's cdrom.
-if Rayman can not find disk, press ESC and rerun Rayman.
- If you want to try Rayman in limited mode, press SPACE.

and then it does nothing even if i press one of them buttons. How can i get this to work?

You download the Zip file from DropBox. Quiz_PG2 is the Polnish version of English with Rayman and Quiz_DF is the German version of French with Rayman. Extract the Zip file anywhere you want to and Launch "DosBox.exe" that's all!
