The movie is from Disney, not Pixar.

I can't belive raymans not I'm this...
Re: WRECK-IT RALPH- Already in Cinemas!!
This game focuses mainly on arcades. Rayman is not an arcade franchise. Completely understandable if you ask me.
And I have a confession to do. I despised Vanellope von Schweetz. I thought she was the typical kind of character you had to feel bad for and briefly stole Ralph's spotlight. Some fans simply like her for being cute which is irritating. But that's just my own personal opinion. I've never had a likement for characters whose main characteristic seemingly is cuteness. Though I (SPOILERS!) liked the fact she decided to become a president instead of a princess, but that's pretty much all.

I particularly love her because she actually has character development and a good reason to be a complete asshole to everyone, not because she's "cute". I guess a lot of people got identified with her problems. So I did.
And yeah... Rayman wasn't in this because he doesn't have any arcade game, even sonic had some (in the movie, his arcade game is "Sonic Fighters").

There was also SegaSonic The Hedgehog. I think that's the name anyway.

Re: WRECK-IT RALPH- Home release, February 2013
I saw it last Sunday, thanks to a special preview or something, and boy was it much better than I had expected. And my expectations were fairly high already. I really, really liked it, plenty of jokes in there that you didn't even have to be a gamer to get, and despite them giving us a fair bit of foreshadowing, the twist near the end took me completely by surprise.
Guess that could say more about me than the movie, but yeah. The film was fantastic in my books, I really liked it. Would see again.

Re: WRECK-IT RALPH- Home release, February 2013
I thought the movie started out well, but I got disappointed because I thought Ralph would be visiting way more games instead of staying in Sugar Rush. Then it just became predictable.
I think I have become a bit jaded. Either that or I blame TvTropes. >_>

It became my Favorite movie right after I saw it. Ever since I saw the trailer, I've been flipping hyped to see that movie. I mean, come on! Video games and Disney! A brilliant combination! Peanut Butter and Jelly!

Kittymaus, your signature is obnoxiously large, taking up almost the whole window of my laptop screen. Get rid of the entire bottom half.

By my stars, I'm an idiot. I knew that bottom half was pointless. I'm terribly sorry. *Shoves bottom half out of the scene*Adsolution wrote:Kittymaus, your signature is obnoxiously large, taking up almost the whole window of my laptop screen. Get rid of the entire bottom half.

Muuuuch better.
Your favourite movie? Do remember that while peanut butter and jelly may sound good together, it's hard to actually make the concoction actually taste good. I think Disney did a pretty good job with this, but I don't think I'd come anywhere close to one of my favourite films.GrandKittymus wrote:It became my Favorite movie right after I saw it. Wreck-It Ralph was an awesome movie, and being the gamer I am, I feel guilty saying, I think Wreck-It Ralph truly could have been better.
The dissapointment I had with it (spoilers ahead, transparent text being used): [ I'd say it feels like 65% of the movie took place in Sugar Rush, the whole concept of Sugar Rush was a cool thing, but Sugar Rush literally WAS the movie, and here I see the trailer, and afterwards thinking "OMG STREET FIGHTER, HOUSE OF THE DEAD, ALL THE CLASSIC GAMES WE COME TO LOVE WILL BE IN THIS", most of the arcade characters you see in the trailer... you'll BARELY see in the movie, it was a good movie, but a huge dissapointment to some gamers, as we were expecting more. I was looking really forward to the movie, so I was a little dissapointed, otherwise though it was an entertaining movie. The sad part is most of the game characters you see in the trailer, are most of the characters you will see in the actual movie...]
Wreck-It Ralph was a fantastic movie, but I expected a movie with gaming references all over the place. They nailed it with the character design and such.

Re: WRECK-IT RALPH- Home release, February 2013
Call me crazy but I just really like the type of movie. I barely know any movies that ever get the idea to use that type of topic for using a whole video game world concept and molding it into a movie plot line. I've pretty much grown up with games as a majority of my childhood. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've got plenty of other spread out favorites like Rise of the Guardians, Princess Bride, Hoodwinked, Over the Hedge, ect., but I officially claimed it suited my taste and made its way into my fav's. But hey, we all got our opinions, right? I absolutely agree to disagree and that's just fine.Adsolution wrote:Muuuuch better.

Well, I'm actually glad that they took a plot-focused direction instead of just throwing random barrel roll jokes at our faces. At some point at the beginning my mom started to feel awkward because she didn't get any of the vg jokes. It's like Roger Rabbit, the references are there, but they aren't forced in the middle of the story. The scene with Bugs and Mickey in the air is easily comparable with the Bad Anon scene.

I didn't mind the direction they took with lingering around in Sugar Rush, it worked. While I think it's a good movie, I think that the movie as a whole was far too predictable.

Actually, it tastes quite great almost instantly - but maybe we just have good peanut butter and jam here.Adsolution wrote:Your favourite movie? I haven't seen WIR yet, though I'd love to. I'll be on the lookout for when it shows up on tv.
PS
GrandKittymus, I spy with my little eye, something beggining with Time. You must be the first person I know to like that game.

Yeah. Probably. I may just be all jumpy about it, but it just really suits my taste I guess. XDShrooblord wrote:Actually, it tastes quite great almost instantly - but maybe we just have good peanut butter and jam here.

And yes indeed. I do enjoy the game that ends in Sweeper. XD

What did you think of the second game? It's a lot of fun to play, what with all its new features and multiplayer capabilities, but the first one aces the second by miles. I love it so much more than I do the second.
