What Rayman character would you like to be?

i,m always happy with who i am i,m a good person i,ve allways got a kind listening ear and a friendly warm lap to cry on it,s really my true nature witch you would of found out much sooner if you would of been a tiny bit nicer more early on but now that i feel more wanted or at least like your not trying to get me to leave you may be able to see that :D
 
I want to be jano, the guardian of that cave of nightmares. I forgot the name exactly. He's the green cyclops with the hat and twig like limbs. I want to be him because he seems so wise and he is my favourite character as he scared me the most and is the most nostalgic! Jano for the win!
 
I thought Ninja Pirates were cool... and not used enough. Combat in R2 could have been more interesting with more Ninjas thrown in.
 
When I was younger I thought he was called Eig... the name 'Jano' is never given in-game (at least not in the PC version), but in the Knowledge of the World I read Polokus finished his creative efforts by conceiving (...) the horrible Eig, who spends his time getting drunk on strange brews in the depths of the Marshes. I then assumed the guardian of the cave was Eig. Note that Jano has strange brews too (e.g. Elixir of Life), lives in the Marshes and is quite horrible. Also, the real Eig isn't in the PC version, so there was no other swamp monster in the game; the "cave guardian = Eig" idea I had made sense back then.

Now that I think about it, it really is strange that Eig is mentioned in the Knowledge, but does not appear in the PC game at all. And Jano is not mentioned... yet he is much more important than Eig.

Also, funny story: when I first played the Marshes of Awakening level, I discovered Jano... he said something like "You don't know the name of this place yet"... I went on the internet and found out it was "The Cave of Bad Dreams"... then I went back to Jano and started typing the level's name on my keyboard in Jano's area/in the Rayman-approaches-Jano cutscene. I didn't know how else to tell him I did know the name! Eventually I gave up, and the next day or so I reached Clark and was then able to enter the level :oops2:

And the typing on the keyboard thing is unfortunately hilarious xDDDDDDDDD :D :D :D :D XDDDDDDDD XF ;D

This applies to me too. I found it hard to grasp that his real name was Jano and told myself I'd never call him that, because I liked the other name better. And here we are - now I like his real name better. :P


But just for good measure, how do we know which one is Jano and which one is Eig?
 
I also had the same issue way before joining this forum.

Well, we could start distinguish who was who with:

- The Official Prima Guide of Rayman 2: The Great Escape: It was describing that Jano was the name of the Guardian of the Cave of Bad Dreams
- Rayman 3 (GBA/N-GAGE): Rayman was naming "Jano" after defeating in his nest from the Haunted Dreams world.

For my case, it was thanks to Rayman 3 (N-GAGE) that I learnt his real name.

That's not really answering their question. They're asking why she decided it... if I were to guess I'd say
1. Names without numbers in them are better :)
2. We're all "Rayfans" so it was a bit generic.
But that's just a guess, of course I can't be sure :P

RayFan9876, despite its original meaning (the virtual disc label for Rayman Forever), comes off as a truly uninspired name, and I'd even begun to see it that way myself. I decided to switch the name to Adsolution since Absolution is my favourite Muse album, flipping the B in it looked fresh, and it ends up sounding both cool and humourous. You've got the Alpha A letter!
