I love how he reused the title music in The Shining. I just think of it as generic evil Kubrick film music. It borders on meta-fiction.Adsolution wrote:A Clockwork Orange soundtrack. Listening to it makes you feel like you're the king of the world.

Having not seen The Shining for ages, I just took a quick listen to the theme again, and I noticed that the whole theme is simple a very close variation on the staple thirteenth century Gregorian Chant Dies Irae, which represents wrath and Judgement Day:

It's interesting the things you notice after you study certain topics extensively.

I prefer this from all other versions because this music is more boss like.

Keane - Under the Iron Sea (album)
I like this even more than Hopes & Fears. While initially Hopes & Fears left a better impression on me, the reason I believe Under the Iron Sea may have the upper-hand is because unlike Hopes & Fears, which was basically a collection of amazing songs, this album has a sense of adventure, like a progression from start to finish. Parts of the album like the ending to Atlantic, for instance, are these lengthy interludes that sound like they could have come right out of a beautiful fairytale:

I absolutely adore this album. I've listened to it six times on loop in my car over the course of the last week.

You may have just gone and added one band and album to my collection.

Moby - Be The One
Love his way he acts. It doesn't look staged, it looks like he is directly singing to you. His voice can be incredibly clear.
Definitely some of of my favourite tracks on this one though. Nothing in My Way, Try Again, and Broken Toy are bloody great. Really wish they had followed this direction more then the corny love songs they're putting out now.

Ah yes, that is a good album. The only criticism I have are towards the songs Leaving So Soon? and Put it Behind You. I feel both songs are a bit unfitting and don't work with the tone the rest of the album is setting.Adsolution wrote:Keane - Under the Iron Sea (album)

That sounds Epic. I should play that game.

I like how this cover includes the vocals. The vocals are actually my favourite part of the original song, anyway.

U2 - With or Without You
Re: Music you are listening to now!
Yesterday I bought Muse's Black Holes and Revelations, The Resistance and The 2nd Law. Listened to the latter two, and they're amazing as fuck. I gotta listen to BH&R because honestly I only really know one song from there D:

Skrillex - First of the Year (Equinox)
Re: Music you are listening to now!
BH&R is probably the only Muse album I can listen through from start to end. The rest tend to lose my attention at some point after the first few tracks.Rulez wrote:Yesterday I bought Muse's Black Holes and Revelations, The Resistance and The 2nd Law. Really? It never got my attention at all honestly, but I hope that'll change as soon as I listen to it.
Also fuck me, instead of listening to BH&R today, I listened to The Resistance and The 2nd Law a second time each, fuckin hell Rulez get it together and stop avoiding that album.

Re: Music you are listening to now!
Well, the tracks I had heard before listening to the full album didn't really stand out to me. My parents on the other hand loved them, so they got the full album. It was a lot better than I had expected. City of Delusion is probably my personal favourite track. The Resistance and The 2nd Law are both good albums, I just have a hard time sitting through them.
Re: Music you are listening to now!
My favourite is Showbiz, having listened to it via Spotify and other ways, but I couldn't find it, only the more recent CDs. But is rly good
Ah and I adore Absolution, but as for Origin of Symmetry, I never listened to that whole one either, but it interests me slightly more than BH&R because there's a lot of tracks I love on it.
