I used to like to think deeply as well, but all the arguments I would get into would ruin my mood and make me stay up too late thinking about what to type next, ect. One morning I decided I would be a lot happier if I didn't take things too seriously all the time and just had fun. It's worked so far!

Critizicing the content of a N64 game is JUST. PLAIN. CHEAP. Seriously, we're being chronologically fair and you had to come up with content? if that's the case then Rayman Legends is the best Rayman game because it has online. The content in Rayman 2 was okay. Just take every other N64 game, like, let's say, Yoshi's Story, or even Super Mario 64. Do these games have more content than Rayman 2? For it's era, Rayman 2 has a pretty amount of content. And this is said by someone who played Rayman 2 a few years ago.
I didn't guess, then. The world is pretty and interesting for the age the game was released. But it's not the final appeal of the game in any way.
You're turning a terrible game design decision into a positive? woah... I... I guess you truly love the game but... well... ehm... woah.
It's not necessary, but it's a well received plus if added correctly. Rayman Legends added it correctly and made it innovative (At least on the Wii U... and partially on the PS Vita)
Like Call of Duty, Halo, Madden, etc. All of them are the exact same game when you replay them. The different strategies are what make it different everytime.
For the time it was released it was perfect. It has the perfect amount of content. Rayman 3 is a Gamecube game. For its standards it truly needed a little more content. Sometimes I feel like Rayman 3 is even shorter than Rayman 2.
Sure. Please name a few in Rayman 3.
It's not like in Rayman 3 you had to restart the entire world if you didn't get the perfect amount of jewels with a perfect timing in one single area of one single level, right? That wouldn't be frustrating anyways, right?
No. Rayman 2 was almost entirely platforming. Which I appreciate.
Rayman 3 is for most the least liked in the original trilogy. The original trilogy, though, is considered like the symbol of perfection for the franchise. Newcomers like Origins and Legends are controversial because they're a return from the dark Rabbids era... and they make things a little different compared to previous entries. While Origins was great, it was terribly flawed despite of how good it was, so it couldn't enter the top 3 (at least for most of us), but Legends fixed those flaws and by how great it is, it truly seems like it wants to steal the third place. That's why there's a comparison between Rayman 3 and Rayman Legends. To see if a newcomer has finally reached enough glory to beat nostalgia.

I also know why I like it more. I tried to explain that in my last few posts and whether that makes sense to you or not is entirely up to you. I'm sure a lot of people share my opinion though, so you might want to think about it just a little.

I mean... it's what you like, isn't it? For a reason I prefer Super Mario Sunshine over Super Mario 64. It's not general consensus, it's just personal preference.(Rayfist you're weak ¬¬)

That's not entirely true. In the french fandom, there are many who has Rayman 3 as their favorite.
Mansion of the deep is also my favorite level with the labirynth.

All of your arguments in your previous posts defend your views based only on gameplay and content of the game, but that was not what I was discussing anyway. Yes, Rayman Legends has good gameplay. Yes, it has a lot of content (that I was able to complete fully without replaying anything, but that's another matter). I agree with you on this. But because of the many reasons I listed that you do not care about (because atmosphere isn't important in videogames), it's not as good as Rayman 3. At all. In my opinion, and in many others'.
Your constant thought that nostalgia has any part in this is quite irritating. I can assure you that I let as little nostalgia as possible affect my views on any of the Rayman games. You don't need nostalgia to notice that Rayman 3 had better atmosphere, a better story (obviously), better pacing, a better world, better music (slower), and I could probably go on like this. But if you only care about gameplay and content (not content in terms of new worlds, not even new levels, but just in terms of more stuff to play), yes, Rayman Legends is a better game.sergiomonty said:
Same thing here. It seems you have to replay it without using the "restart level" button if you get it wrong. So if you fail, exit the level and go back into the painting. Make sure not to risk going through that light that turns on and off near the entrance of the left part to get the Teensy either. That helped for me.Rayrobi said:

I swear that I did the whole level without touching any of those and I got the achievement.
Anyway, I am in a wierd situation. As a gamer, this is my order of preference: R2 > R1 > RL > R3 > RO. But as a fan, this is my order of preference: R2 > R1 > R3 > RL > RO.
I start to have real doubts of which to trust, but I think the only way to figure that out is to replay RL more times and see if the enjoyment is better than when replaying R3, but I believe it will be probable that R3 will end up more enjoyable.

How weird. I actually enjoy RPG's for their gameplay. The story is more important in those because well... They're RPG's. They're slow paced so they must remain interesting.
Platformers. Those don't need a plot to be enjoyable. A plot makes them more interesting? yeah. Can it be the most important aspect? Not at all. A platformer with an interesting plot but with clunky gameplay is immediately dead.

I appreciate a game for what it's trying to be. If it wants to be story-driven, than it should have a good story. RL is a Gameplay-driven game, and the gameplay is great, so in my book, that equals a good game. Criticizing RL for being too focused on gameplay is like saying a comedy movie has too many funny parts. I know the previous games have had deep plots, but all the Rayman games are unique, too! RL is just another addition to the collection of diverse games we call a franchise, I don't see why it has to be so much like the others.
