General Pokémon Thread

I guess Shiny's aren't something to be proud of, you can literally get as much as you want per game store. So I could get 2 shiny Palkias if I want.

I think getting lesser common shinies, ones which require you to poke around wild Pokemon areas, are more commendable in this instance.

I'm rather meh towards shinies, i'd try and catch one if I do ever get one but it's not something I go nuts over.

Hm, indeed, I don't have the time to wait for 'em, though I'd go nuts if I encountered one out of the blue naturally.

What I'm going to say is totally random but I thought you guys would like to know. I went today to the faculty to do the subscription and at a point I had to continue the subscription online and all the computers in the room had desktop pictures of Pikachu, Charmander and other Pokémon.

Neat, barring the one young 'un looking up a Wikia for Pokemon (instead of the vastly superior Bulbapedia) in High School, I didn't see much of it on School stuffs.

CoroCoro leaked another bunch of info today, allow me to copy/paste this text from Tumblr :
  1. Mega Mewtwo has 2 Mega Evolutions, “Mega Mewtwo X” which is X version only is Psychic/Fighting with Steadfast as ability. “Mega Mewtwo Y” Y version exlusive, is Psychic only and can learn Hypnosis.
  2. Mega Garchomp keeps its typing and now has Sand Force as ability.
  3. Chespin’s evolution is Grass-type only and can learn Mud Shot.
  4. Fennekin’s evolution is Fire-type and learns Psycho Cut.
  5. Froakie’s evolution is Water-type and can learn Bounce.
  6. New Fossil Pokemon: Chigorasu the T-Rex is a Rock/Dragon-type with a new ability called called Hard Chin (increases the power of moves that uses its mouth). Amarasu the Brachiosaurus is a Rock/Ice-type with Freeze Skin as ability (it changes the type of the normal-type moves it learns and they become ice-type increasing their power as well).
  7. Torimian is the Poodle that leaked during the Direct, and is a Normal-Type pokemon with Fur Coat as ability (Cuts the damage or physical moves directed at it), you are able to style it by cutting its fur and even painting it. Nyaonikusu is a psychic-type cat with gender differences, the female is the white one with yellow eyes, and the male is the one with blue eyes. They will have different moves and even stats with Keen Eye or Infiltrator as ability.
  8. Team flare has 5 admins: Kuseroshiki, Momiji, Bara, Akebi, and Kolea. And they want to create a beautiful new world.
  9. There’s a table with the typing of a few new moves, and Parting Shot, Geomancy, and Oblivion Wing are listed as unknown types (???).
  10. A new character called Karune is an actress that helps you to customize your clothes and hair at a Salon/Boutique. And you can also battle her.
  11. In the anime, Gym Leader Clemont, and the female playable character are next to Ash in the poster. Clemont seems to have a Dedenne. Mega Blaziken featured as well.
  12. The first XY TCG sets are called Collection X and Collection Y.

One thing this doesn't mention though is the new type table. Serebii already has the full table but met me briefly state the changes :
- Fairy type moves are super effective against Dragon, Fighting and Dark types. They aren't effective against Fire, Poison and Steel types
- Fairy pokemon are weak against Poison and Steel, resistant to Fire and immune to Dragon
- Steel pokemon are no longer resistant to Dark and Ghost type moves.

All I can say is i'm still fearing Mega-Milotic.

Hm, given your likings, I can see why you'd be worried as how Mega Milotic would turn out.
Some interesting changes here, quite the shakeup, been a while since the series has seen this degree of change.

Not really sure what exactly is meant to imply. :P Milotic to me is equivalent to how most feel about Whitney's Miltank. At the same token though I would like to see it get one where it would gain the fairy type, and thinking about it now having Gyrados mega-evolve and gaining the dragon type would make a lovely counterpart for it.

It was referring to your liking of Wallace, who owns a Milotic, I'd like to see that too (referring to Mega Evolutions of Gyrados and Milotic).
Hm, so Mega MewTwo has two megas? Leading a fine mystery, he is.

Wallace was shamefully the death of me during my first run of Pokemon Emerald. Only because I was a noob who only raised Torchic, although stupidly I got through the rest of the game fine and got my Blaziken up to Lvl 70 when I faced him.

Mewtwo getting 2 Mega's was rumoured for quite a while now so it came as no surprise. I prefer this forme though over the other as it looks more like Mewtwo while the other looked much closer to Mew. Seems like i'm fairly convinced to get X now.

Hm, I must admit, I actually prefer the look of MewTwo Y, this one, there's something about its design that just doesn't do it for me.

I love this.

I've seen a leaked picture of Mewtwo's form of Psychic/Fighting type. Is this a real thing? I must say it looks awesome.

I am also happy to see the evolution of Froakie. Now for Chespin, it was already my least favourite starter and seeing its evolution only made it worse.
