Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
I was usually using DXtory more than Bandicam in past but Rayman 1 Saturn Let's Played convinced me to use Bandicam in all future Let's Plays.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
The lag when using FRAPS is much less than the lag when using Bandicam when I try to record from Project64 and XEBRA. (Of course, I don't need to use either except for imports/Silent Hill).
Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
I only use bandicam with games i cant record with fraps and some emulated ones. Bandicam lags like hell in games such as Rayman M ( to be exact, the video is like 15fps but the runs at full speed ) , while fraps captures at mostly 40-50 fps, but the game gets a little bit slower.
Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
Well, running at the full speed is for me the most important thing. After video is recorded, it is slow but then I just render video in Camtasia Studio 8 and it looks fine to me.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
In Bandicam I never had any issues with the recorded video going to slow or laggy. I guess my laptop is just powerful enough
Only in FRAPS I was experiencing the audio going off synronous. COOLPRO195 can confirm that.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
FRAPS is an overrated software if you ask me.

Hm, Fraps has its uses, I know it can be used as a benchmark.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
Back on topic I started a Rayman 2 Revolution walkthrough. Here's the first part:
As you can see it runs just perfect! No lags nor slowmotion.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
Seeing that PS2 intro, made me want to go and look at the PS2 red screen for some odd reason.

Anyway. I should use the WMV compression at first. Makes things much faster. Here's the next part:

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
Is there any way to force widescreen? It seems obviously stretched.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
It was my decision to stretch to widescreen. I'll make the next part back in SD if it looks ugly to you. It didn't annoy me stretching the screen like that.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
So I may have the opportunity to record a HD playthrough/walkthrough of Rayman Legends Wii U, in single player, within the next few weeks. Would you guys be interested in seeing it if I did it?

@Brawler, if you wish, go right ahead.
@Em, it doesn't annoy per se, but I do find it tragic that the Dreamcast version only natively has widescreen support. I'm aware though that some emulators have the ability to force a game to run in widescreen, however, I'm not aware if yours can do so, I was merely asking if that was the case.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
I could also record the PC version or Xbox 360 version if people would rather those for any reason, but I was going to go with Wii U because I would get the best quality capture out of that, plus it's the best version of the game.
Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
I like the widescreen. But if you want to change it in future videos, that's fine, I have a plugin which stretches it for me. If you want to make the already uploaded videos 4:3, add "yt:stretch=4:3" as a tag to those videos. If my advice sounds confusing, come to a halt near the stone, and keep square pressed down, and I'll quickly appear in your mind to help you!
Nice job on the HQ and slowdown free recording, BTW. Did you use an emulator or record from the console?

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
I am using an Emulator. I have no capture card or whatsoever. That way the game will load much much more fasterRibShark wrote:Did you use an emulator or record from the console?
Also I tryed to use the 16:9 ability in the emulator but it seems that it just stretches the picture. I will continue the playthrough on SD.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
Nah, it's more just a desire to see the best looking version of Rayman 2 in true Widescreen, I'm not fussed about the stretching.
@Brawler, the Wii U version is meant to be the definitive version, go right ahead.

Re: Rayman Walkthroughs
Yeah, I may be doing it because a friend of mine in college, who happens to live very close to me, started a gaming Youtube channel 2 months ago, with his friends. He still hasn't really got it off the ground, but he thinks I have the know-how to help him, so I figured I would at least try. Part of the reason for wanting me to help out is because he wants to expand the variety of games played on the channel, and he knows I play all sorts of games, so I would be a big help in that regard.
I figured I should do Rayman Legends as one of my first playthroughs, because it's so fresh in my mind, and I love the game in general. I plan to do Legends and Sonic Generations around the same time, as they shouldn't be stressful to record and edit.
Also, I do plan to do a 100% run of the game, as well as record commentary. I plan to try and be entertaining, but also informative.
