Re: Rayman 1
'Tis a world of magic and whimsy, the fact that there is a land made of confectionery shouldn't escape us, for all we know, there might not be such a thing as bacteria and the like.
Though I'd still find it a little disgusting, you don't know what's been on that candy.

Mmmhmm, not so appetising now, is it?

Re: Rayman 1
The answer to that question is a big no. Plus, it has Rayman's feet stepped on and he has stepped on a BUNCH of platforms, clowns, Bad Rayman, and who knows how many other people like Mr.DarkTHEdragon wrote:Mmmhmm, not so appetising now, is it?

A landscape made of confectionery is pretty, but impractical.

Well thanks for giving me an image of that, Master.Master wrote:'Tis a world of magic and whimsy, the fact that there is a land made of confectionery shouldn't escape us, for all we know, there might not be such a thing as bacteria and the like.

Re: Rayman 1
What if the Candy Chateau expires?
Re: Rayman 1
Imagine the candy chateau with giant ants and giant flys
Re: Rayman 1
Now those would have made some very interesting enemies for that world!
Re: Rayman 1
Didn't we something similar with "Spoiled Rotten"?
Re: Rayman 1
If there is ever a remake I want Rayman to leave behind dirty footsteps when he walks.
Re: Rayman 1
That'd be a nice touch.

I am laughing way harder at this than I should be.Keane wrote:If there is ever a remake I want Rayman to leave behind dirty footsteps when he walks.

Re: Rayman 1
Imagine if they remade Rayman 1 with the UbiArt engine, and based it on the Origins/Legends style of game mechanics (but mix it with elements of Rayman 1, so it's pretty much 50/50 between both styles).

Re: Rayman 1
Call me a purist, but I'd rather a remake of Rayman 1 retained its mechanics, though I don't mind other games adapting Rayman 1 levels to suit their own mechanics.
Re: Rayman 1
If your gonna change the gameplay it's not really a remake, not to mention that Origins/Legends gameplay doesn't have the same feel as Rayman 1.
Re: Rayman 1
I would not like R1 to be in Origins/Legends style. It would ruin a Rayman 1 atmosphere which was the best. No game has atmosphere like Rayman 1.sonicbrawler182 wrote:Imagine if they remade Rayman 1 with the UbiArt engine, and based it on the Origins/Legends style of game mechanics (but mix it with elements of Rayman 1, so it's pretty much 50/50 between both styles).

Re: Rayman 1
The reason why I'd rather they take some cues from Origins/Legends is because of the control being much better than Rayman 1.
So basically, make the overall control like Origins/Legends, but keep the health system, telescopic fist (meaning removing the Origins/Legends attacks), power-ups, and all of that like Rayman 1.
Rayman 1 is a good game, but it's kinaesthetics bother the hell out of me. Origins/Legends was a much better take on the same kinaesthetics than Rayman 1.
Oh, and give me all of the powers from the start. No need to have them earned at scripted points.

Each to their own, I'm not too big a fan of the compulsion to dash that Origins/Legends gives.

Re: Rayman 1
I never said the levels need to change to reflect Origins/Legends level design. I'm strictly talking about the controls. Remember, Rayman has a walking speed in Origins/Legends as well as sprinting, much like how he had a walking speed and a dash in Rayman 1. So the Rayman 1 levels could probably be ported into the Origins/Legends with minimal tweaking.Master wrote:Each to their own, I'm not too big a fan of the compulsion to dash that Origins/Legends gives.
