Say a new Rayman cartoon is being made.

I suppose it would depend entirely on what kind of cartoon we would see. Probably wouldn't sound good at all in a serious context, but if the cartoon went with a completely wacky, tongue-in-cheek feel, I could see it working.

If it does have to silly, then I'd like it to be something like Wander Over Yonder

I can only imagine Mr. Dark as Lord Hater and the Magician as Commander Peepers. It's a hilarious thought.

Since you said that, I think the Magician could be a good sidekick for Mr. Dark.

Now that you said that, I had an idea when I saw the latest WOY episode.

Awesome! I can definitely see the Magician being a sidekick for Mr. Dark. Great work!

I can't see Mr. Dark as a similar character that Lord Hater is portrayed as. Mr. Dark isn't a childlish emo teen who throws cartoonish tantrums when things go wrong. I see him as a completely humorless deadpan snarker whose great amount of power makes him a respectable, serious and sinister villain. If there was a Rayman cartoon, I'd say he will form a team with DarkRay and Ales, but their teamwork and chemistry would be absolutely terrible. Mr. Dark would be extremely difficult for them to impress. When they succeed at something, Mr. Dark would just go "Yeah whatever". When they fail, he would stay calm, but definitely with a disappointed face. Just how I envision it.

The term "anime" only refers to the style of animation, and nothing else.
Completely false. 'Anime' has influence over all aspects of production style, including the mode of storytelling, pacing, common themes, character development, and of course, the animation/visual style.

I see. Though, Ad, would you rather see it being made CGI or traditionally animated?
Mostly traditional, though I could envision CGI being used frequently to enhance it, sort like how Legends uses it.
Well said Ad :proud: I am glad you know that. Plus, in Japan, everything that is animated by Japanese people is called Anime, regarding of style.
Many Tatsunoko Anime look like western cartoons but they are still Anime because it is from Japan made by Japanese people.

As for Rayman, I would like to see Rayman Anime being made with more serious tone than RO and RL. I would also like western cartoon with slapstick humor and based of RO/RL. The Western Cartoon could be 10 minute shorts and for Episode number, they can create them until they don't run out of good ideas As for Anime, they could make it like a 100 or something episodes.

I see Mr. Dark as a Darth Vader kind of character with similar voice too. DarkRay could have personality similar to Envy. As for Ales, a self proclaimed genious who always comes up with a plans and they fail.

Wouldn't care for a full on show, but a couple of shorts would be neat. Something like Ricepirate's cartoon, I liked that one.

Taking in mind the direction Rayman has taken as of lately I imagine the partnership of DarkRay and Ales would end up like this:

Ales should be like Grounder or Scratch but DarkRay should have a complete different persona in my opinion. I suggested something similar like Envy because I think it would fit to give DarkRay that kind of persona.

Damn it, now I keep imagining either a excellent comical show like Wonder Over Yonder (most recently) or a dark, serious cartoon show with brilliant narrative.
I feel the need to sketch something down now.

Do you realise you just supported the idea of creating something that could be compared to The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

I said that just for 1 character. 1 character does not make the whole show.

if they did make one, i'd prefer it to feel like Wander Over Yander and use rayman's original look.

It's too much.

You say it like it's a bad thing. ;)
Yes, because the show is a fucking piece of shit.

Adventures of Sonic is effortless bullshit filled with insane "humour" that goes nowhere. It's just strange flashing images and a lot of yelling and that's it. The animation is disgustingly ugly to the point where the Eggman's robots look like doodles from a kid and all the backgrounds are just... random shapes & colours...? The voice acting is amateurish at best and often just plain irritating. No one behind that show had any interest in creating something remotely interesting and instead just went at it with a "If it looks silly young kids will think its funny" attitude. I like random humour but just shitting out pure nonsense does not make a good substitute for actual comedy. Throw away comedy with uninspired visuals and mediocre voice acting. If you really wanna see a Sonic cartoon then Sat AM is the way to go.
