Hmmm, i would expect Rayman to be laughing evilly but still its a good entry :)
I think both expressions work, but in different ways. The calm face seems to portray a lack of sympathy or awareness of actions and consiquences, rather than the stereotypical insanity. Like hacking someone to bits and being desensitised to the point of thinking nothing of it, as if one were cutting a potato, rather than than an "AHAHAHA I'M SO EVIL I LOVE BLOOD" manner.

Yeah, sometimes it can be the evil laugh, or it can be a calm face, either way its still a nice entry.

Depends on the type of scary you're looking for, a calm face conveys no emotion, the fact we don't know what the subject thinks of his actions makes it all the more scarier, imo.

Meh, the classic evil laugh of a psychopath isn't really a scary thing anymore, its such a over used idea, I've seen it everywhere. Plus the fact that we probably have a different view on what is scary and what is not. If like evil laughs so much, here is 3 minute sketch of the same drawing with that evil laugh. http://sta.sh/08uw3ge7pxk

Exactly. :P

Spanex, is it possible to direct link me to the image itself, much like with Zepto, I can't see the image due to the filter.

Filter. :O Can't you see deviations with mature tags then? That sounds odd.

But thanks Zepto for linking the direct one. I didn't realize.

I'm not on DeviantArt, so as a guest, I'm naturally locked out of more adult artworks, for obvious reasons.

Gawd... the way he holds that knife... his evil face, staring right at me... the wilted leaves on the plum... IT'S BRILLIANT!

Not to say I don't like the others. I mean the calm-face Rayman seemed creepy. It throws empathy in your face, saying `Hey, shut up you stupid babies, and have your father. Look, here he is! Look at your father, dancing about all happy! Wonderful, ain't it? Now bye...'

Nice to see you 'round the forums again, I'll add your artwork to the first post.
