I don't follow, what exactly is it that you feel it lacks? The boss I posted is much harder than the fellow playing in that video makes it to be, heck, that boss has a move that can knock one right out of the Super State. But I digress, could you clarify what you mean? Perhaps provide some examples to better portray your point, as it stands, I'm a little lost.

To me, a final boss should feel like a movie climax. Something that makes me feel like I'm ending something great. I don't get really get that with Sonic, granted there are exceptions, like Solaris (even though that game it comes is a horrible excuse of programming). I don't think the final bosses are bad, I even enjoyed the Time Eater, just sort of, anticlimactic, it doesn't affect my feelings on the game in any way. I'm probably just expecting too much.

Hm, I see, so the bearing of the boss in terms of the plot is important to you and your enjoyment of it, interesting.

Sonic Unleashed (Next Gen), Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Sonic and the Black Knight all had really climatic final bosses.

Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 both had truly epic final bosses along with Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Not sure what happened with the new Sonic games, even the deadly six boss battles look pretty easy (though hopefully the NiGHTS DLC will accompany this), but still look disappointing as ever.

I still wish for NiGHTS 2. Enough with remaking the first one. It was first released on Saturn, then in 2003 on PC in Japan only, then on PS2 and Wii, then on XBLA and PSN. NiGHTS appears more in Sonic games than it's own games. We need NiGHTS 2.

It isn't a remake, it's a sequel. It's a brand new game, with new mechanics, new levels, new bosses, new soundtrack (some are remixes but hey, it's NiGHTS, the music is awesome) and a new story, with new characters.

I know some people didn't really like it, but whether or not people did is irrelevant - it's still NiGHTS 2.

Hm, heard of S3HD, never realised they've gotten that far, hm, it looks pretty decent, though I think they could improve the animation, it feels a little stiff for my tastes, one thing I liked about the S2HD project was how they added more frames to animations to make them feel less stiff and more organic. But, on the whole, this looks promising, question is, can they keep it up?
Argh, Chrome, I'm from England, stop making me replace my "s" with "z"

EDIT: Fixed, Chrome somehow reverted me back to "English US," anyways, read through the comments, OCG, you'll be interested in this one:
Just going to tie up some loose ends here: Sonic 3 HD is still in production and everything you see here has been scrapped and completely re-designed. And this will be a remake of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Please continue to be patient with the team (who by the way is not affiliated with S2HD in any way) and you guys will be absolutely blown away at the results. So please don't look at this video as the end result, but as a new beginning of a fantastic, well-deserved project. Thank you.

As long as LOst is not a programmer, they are good. Glad that they will do better than what is shown on video.

It's been made clear a thousandfold that the project isn't affiliated with S2HD, or Sonic Retro for that matter, what would cause one to make such an assumption in the first place? I know the S2HD incident caused many to be wary, which is good, better to be reserved than be all out in one's hope, but it'd still be nice if people would listen and research before flapping their mouths.

Regardless, there's no way of knowing if the current programmer will or will not pull the same trick, or if this project will take off at all. I'd love to see it flourish, but past experience has rendered me cynical.
