Say a new Rayman cartoon is being made.

Hm. It'd have to be 2D animation like the old Rayman 1 commercial (though I can tolerate 3D; I liked the old Rayman cartoon), Rayman wears the neckerchief instead of the hoodie, his body is ROUND instead of that dumb cylinder-like shape (please pardon that pet peeve of mine), ...and I'd like it if it were based off Rayman 1.
Call me biased, but... I like the way you think.

Rayman 1 is best in terms of characters and how world appears overall so I would like that too.

I would just love to see and learn more of the original characters. The game itself didn't tell us much about them, yet somehow I found them very appealing.

I wouldn't be interested in seeing a R1 designed cartoon. I never really liked it to be honest.

I think a cartoon with an atmosphere like Rayman 2's atmosphere would be cool. Maybe 2D animated, maybe 3D animated, but if they did it right they would probably have a great show.

With such a facility, there's potential to confuse and cause chaos, if you don't want the contents of a post to be seen, just edit it.

R1 style high fives to THEdragon and OldClassicGamer!

To continue, I think it'd be cool if the cartoon's theme song was the theme to Rayman Arena. And The Magician was one of those lovably annoying characters that comes every now and then to offer help and annoy the hero or viewers (with that same R1 lovably annoying voice).

And Mister Dark is a somewhat quiet antagonist, but still has a voice and dialogue. Preferably with a slight English accent, kinda like Albert Wesker in Resident Evil 5.

Speaking of dialogue, Rayman needs a sidekick for the sake of dialogue. If not based on R1, it could be Globox &/or Ly. Otherwise, who in R1 could take the role?

Betilla, perhaps? His other friends in that game are Tarayzan, Joe and the Musician but they don't really play enough of a role to be sidekicks.

Personally, I don't think Rayman would need a personal sidekick, but rather a range of friends who act as supporting characters in each episode.

If ever I envision a sidekick to Rayman in the Rayman 1 era, it would most likely be Bzzit, though even still, that would make the idea of an on-foot journey rather moot.

Like the old Rayman cartoon, I see. I just said sidekick because there aren't enough characters in R1 for a group. At least, characters who play significant enough supporting roles.

Perhaps, but new ones could be made.

And there is a significant increase in characterisation in the educational spinoffs, particularly Rayman Activity Centre.
