If one where to literally nuke Dark Rayman in Rayman 1, that would probably blow the entirety of Candy Château out of the Valley!
Good the nuke wasn't placed somewhere lower like the caves of skops or this entire mountain would just crash and come down.

Speaking of that, playing Rayman 1 several times has led me to believe that Blue Mountain implodes in the game. Either that or Rayman falls off it.
I mean, seriously, after getting to te tip of Blue Mountain and defeating Mister Stone, Candy Chateau is RIGHT THERE! Right next to you! But then you have to go all the way to the bottom of the map to Picture City...and basically climb another mountain!!
Which leads me to believe that either Mister Dark came, shot fire and lightning and stuff, and made the mountain collapse, making Rayman fall all the way down to Picture City, or Rayman was just dumb enough to fall off the mountain and still land in Picture City.

I thought he just climbed back down the mountain to go through Picture City. And I'm assuming Candy Chateau is inaccessible from the peak of the mountains, so Rayman would have to climb down (And pass through the city) before he can climb back up to the highlands of Candy Chateau.

But that is an interesting headcanon! :)

Hahah, I had the feeling that THEdragon and MisterDark'sFanClub would get along nicely.
If I recall correctly, the first thing I said to MisterDark'sFanClub is that I like the way she thinks.

x) Do you really like the way I think? (Sorry, I don't have the best memory.)

As a matter of fact, I'm using that "Mister Dark destroys the mountain" theory in a Rayman 1 fanfiction I'm writing. (So no one steals it, without my permission; it's mine!) XD

You're writing a Rayman 1 fanfiction? And a potentially sad/dramatic one at that?
Yes, I really do like the way you think!!!

@Master It can also trigger the Patological Cheater achievement, one that I personally totally dispense to have.

I mentioned this in the You game, but I was just playing Rayman Advance (On an emulator), and I noticed that 'High Mountains' loops differently to how I remember.
Listen for yourself. http://www.mediafire.com/listen/zi5az03qkt48c8k/swigswag.WAV
From what I remember, when I played it years ago on the actual GBA, the track just looped back to the very beginning without that little echo-ey crossover. I think I might look up some playthrough videos just to be sure I'm not losing my mind.

On further investigation, it seems the song always looped like that, and I am in fact losing my mind.

That reminds me, I still have a copy of Rayman Advance sticking in the back of my DS. I really need to get back to my quest to win Rayman 1 (secretly wish I started with a better port though ;))

Could you be so kind as to check the High Mountains loop for me? Does it loop as I showed in that audio sample or does it loop back from the very beginning? I'm wondering if it has something to do with the emulators.

I've always liked that song, the way it only starts playing after The Musician gets his guitar back makes it sound like the backing of the song is what he is playing, and that The Musicians's song is carrying Rayman through the level :).

Currently got the level running in the background, so I'll edit this post when it loops :P

EDIT: It has always looped seemlessly without jumping back to the start

Well, I'm definitely losing my mind then. Or maybe I just have a crappy memory. :P

I started with Rayman 1 with Advance, then switched to PC and finished, and now I'm going back to Advance because...? Because I have no life lol

I feel lucky that the first version I ever saw was the Playstation 1 port :)
I originally (As in my second Rayman phase, not the first in which I played Advance) wanted to get Rayman 1 for PS1 to play on my PS2 (Fancy that, they make it for PS 1 and 3, but not 2) but I ended up getting the PC version instead and I was happy with it. :D

My DS just crashed on em in the middle of a game of Rayman! Luckily I was only running through Pink Plant Woods at the time, so I didn't lose any valuable progress. Still, I am getting really tired of Rayman Advance glitching on me, I'm really tempted to start again in another port :P

Hm, have you considered using an emulator for Rayman Advance? I'm sure you have, actually. :mryellow:

If i was playing on a computer, I think I'd rather play a stronger port since the option would be availiable to me. I might try and trawl through the rest of the game via DS first though, since it seems a waste to ignore that 88%...

Well alright then. :D Hmm, I wonder if Jimmy's computer ever crashed while he was building the world of Hereitscool...

Yeah, the PC version is pretty weak, especially with it's overture style soundtrack and bizzare cage placement.
