Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
I'm pretty certain I am in the majority though. If people honestly cared that much about such a negligible performance difference (we're talking about the difference between 41 and 45 FPS in a dense area here) to take it as a deciding factor over or on par with everything else - literally, almost everything else is more important to worry about - then I can't say I'm very impressed with whatever group of people feels it's that important. I'm not saying this as an Xbox fan (I'm a... 'PC person', really, with a dislike for the DualShock controller and a preference for the 360's library), I'm saying this as someone who is willing to bet that there will be absolutely no apparent performance difference (and therefore no difference in experience) unless you compare the two side-by-side and do some repeated movement frame calculations with your eyes, which isn't really the point anyway, unless the larger half of your enjoyment comes from trying to find pros cons in things in the most unnoticeable, superficial things. To be honest, that's what people who really have nothing to complain about do when they still want to complain about something.
Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
Eh, the PS4 and the Xbax One haven't really impressed me and I'm not really interested in them. The Wii U on the other hand though...
Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
I agree that games have no impact on the actual quality of the hardware itself. The game library indicates the appeal and audience of the platform.
My view on the eighth-generation of consoles is mixed. To be honest, I never really looked into what the Xbox One or even the 360 has to offer so I cannot justly give an opinion about it. Having owned a Wii U for a year now, I still have not developed liking for the console's game library, with a few exceptions, and the only titles I am looking anticipating are the new Zelda title, and X . It is largely lacking of titles that appeal to me, and it seems for the most part, Nintendo is merely attempting to do what worked to help the original Wii sell well, with sequels to all of their staple hold franchises. The PS4 holds a lot of intrigue, but if the console will realize that potential is yet to be shown. The Gakai streaming could open up a whole game streaming ecosystem between all Sony platforms with the Vita, Vita TV, and other Sony devices. Imagine the whole PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP library at your fingertips. I do like Microsoft's approach to make the Xbox One a multi-entertainment platform, I am always infuriated by people who say consoles are just for games, only games matter, and hardware horsepower and additional features don't matter at the slightest, my older brother namely. Overall, it seems what console you chose will all boil down to games and features. At this point I'm leaning more towards the PS4 as my preferred platform of the generation, as Sony hardware has always resonated well with me, but I guess time will only tell.

Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
I could not possibly agree more with everything you've said. Though, my brother and I will definitely be purchasing a One because we've always been more accustomed to Microsoft consoles, I'm a huge Halo fanatic (one of my favourite series next to Rayman), and I could really make use of some of the technologies Kinect provides, namely for motion capture. Also, my brother is kind of a party guy, so the media centre portion of it would likely become something incredibly integral to his basement.

Like I said, I'm prioritizing games over features/performance. I was only saying that if, you don't count games in the comparison of the two consoles, many would choose the PS4 over the Xbox One.Adsolution wrote:I'm pretty certain I am in the majority though. I'm a PS guy, personally, and am one of the few that loves the DualShock controllers (the D-Pad, c'mon, it's awesome), but I won't blindly get any console of theirs without seeing some decent games first.

I have to share this:
And this:
Oh, I forgot to share how to fix one:
Issues of PS4:
It seems many of them have blue/red line of death

Took a look at it and it looks pretty decent.Rayfist wrote:Luckily, the Wii U has the Game pro controller you can buy, which I'm planning on buying.

Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
What a waste... to throw something like that. Usually when it comes to technology related videos and people use the old labtops to throw or a broken console, I don't mind often, but these people throwing PS4's? Go to hell.

That episode was amazing, I cant wait for the second part. Makes me really wish Stick of Truth didn't get delayed (Loved Cartmans reference to the delay in the episode)

Meh, it has a place for entry level console buyers, I guess, though Ninty really could've been more wiser in its name schemes.

Wii Mini is the 2DS of the Wii family. It's just a cheaper option with stripped down features meant for the little 'uns.

Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
Yep, Ryse just got some pretty harsh ratings. I totally saw it coming. While graphically the game looks neat (I mean what else to expect from the Cryengine), god damn it, it looks tedious and boring.
Re: Next-Gen Consoles/Games
I'm quite disappointed with the Xbox launch lineup, and I'm still unsure what I'm gonna buy. Maybe Forza? Maybe CoD? Whatever I settle on I probably won't be playing them in a month's time.
PS4 isn't that much better either though, will probably get Killzone and Battlefield, and they ain't great games from the looks of it.

Christ, the Wii U had a better launch then both of these consoles.

Not really, unless you count ZombiU as a must-have game.Rayfist wrote:Christ, the Wii U had a better launch then both of these consoles.
