I always thought of Rayman as a teenager. With the genuinely cool popular guy smile, his value of friendship, his love for showmanship, his relaxed and cool headed personality, his love of adventure and excitement, and the whole "YEAH!" thing.

...Don't tell me you'd want Mister Dark to be one of those douchy, annoying antagonists. Because I've already read a fanfiction where he was exactly that, and it's not as funny as you think. Not pretty at all.
 
Have you ever seen Adventure Time? If not, The Lich is pure evil in it, he's feared by all the characters and one of the few things that makes the show go serious.

I wanted always Mr. Dark to be cool villain. Douchy annoying antagonist does not suit him.
 
Hence why I've been raving about him being portrayed like the Lich, the Lich is not funny, isn't douchey, and is pure evil.

Hm, more for the embodiment of darkness from the get go than another tragic villain, seen too many of them.
 
Hm, sometimes little to no backstory is what makes a villain more compelling, for the cheesy name, I like Mr. Dark because he's so mysterious.
 
If Rayman was to have new Cartoon, Mr. Dark should not have backstory.
If Rayman was to have Anime, then backstory would be fitting.
I would also like if Rayman Anime was to be made to instead of pronouncing Mr. Dark with Katakana symbols and keep his English name, they should call him Yami-Sama!
 
That is somrthing I would love really much but will probably never happen since Rayman ius not popular in Japan.
 
Reminds me of my dream about Rayman characters in the Super Mario Bros Anime movie.

Anybody know a good voice actor for Mister Dark? Or do you think they should just keep his original voice?

The only villain, perhaps, but not the only character. I don't think any of the characters in Rayman 1 really had backstories. :)

Voice of Darth Vader? Maybe, but I think I'd like something slightly more subtle and creepy as opposed to deep evil.
 
I remember posting YouTube comment which got many thumbs up. It was on video with scrapped Lion King song where Mufasa sings. I posted:
"Darth Vader should never sing. Period"
 
Not James, that's for sure, he can sound evil, but not in the subtle way I'd like, his is a more refined evil voice, I think, mine's a bit sneaky, yet gruff.
