Despite the listing stating it was a photo of an Xbox One Day One edition console, Mr Clatworthy said he'd expected to receive the console as it was listed in the video games and consoles category on eBay.
This is literally what makes it impossible to feel bad for the guy. Never mind the whole "19 year old with a 4 year old son" part, as it has nothing to do with it. Just...he had it coming. He literally got what he ordered.

eBay is the same website where people sold drawn on, cardboard Wii U GamePads for like, a thousand dollars, and people actually bid on them. If there was no mention of the photo, then it'd be a different story, and Mr. Clatworthy would actually be in the right, and entitled to a refund.

He really isn't, in this scenario. I'd say give back his money out of pure pity.

Mother of God, the game looks like one large nostalgia orgy, shut up and take my money. It reminds me of Banjo-Kazooie so much, I've honestly been needing a Banjo-esque recently, can't have enough of those exploration heavy, collect-a-thon platformers.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to that spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie ex-Rare employees were going to make?

Hm, Banjo-Kazooie never did it for me. Its presentation is far too kiddish and happy-go-lucky for me, and the graphics were pretty bad as well. The gameplay is solid, but nothing original, so there's nothing drawing me to it at all really.

You should play Conker's Bad Fur Day. It is the exact opposite of all of those things. ;)

True dat! :D

Also, have you seen the developers' LP of the game? It's hilarious. :P

Try Banjo-Tooie.

It also pretty much improves on every other aspect.

I can understand the whole "kiddish" and "happy-go-lucky" part since it can become annoying, however I tend to be gravitated towards anything that's either happy and kiddish or depressing, cynical, and moody. Even though I tend to go for media with the later tone, the former effects me even more since, coming from someone who's usually depressed, it's nice to distract myself with something light-hearted. Moving on.

Wait a second though, "bad graphics"? They were good for the time and graphics aren't all that important in the first place, artstyle matters though. I agree that Conker's Bad Fur Day is Rare's best, though.

I've been playing PS4 a lot during the past week and enjoying it a lot. I've managed to beat Knack, Killzone and attain the platinum trophy in Resogun.
I'd give Resogun 9.5/10
Killzone Shadow Fall 9/10
and Knack 7.2/10

I really loved Resogun, not only was it addicting as hell, but offered some brutal challenge as well as great online Co-op. Best downloadable game on PS4 I've played so far and the best I have played overall since Journey. Only real nitpick is I felt a couple of the bosses could have been switched around; bosses 3 and 4 were much easier than 1 and 2, especially on Veteran. Another gripe is the game doesn't award you with Master difficulty if you complete it on veteran with a friend, its only obtainable through solo. There was absolutely no indication of this anywhere and with the game having a major focus on co-op I found this to be quite silly and annoying.

Killzone Shadow Fall has an awesome Multiplayer mode that is both balanced and fun. I've already put hours into it, with only 10% of challenges unlocked, I'll be playing it for a lot longer. The single player however had its flaws. I enjoyed the narrative and the gameplay for the most part but unfortunately certain levels are plagued with annoying designs and challenges, these often end with monotony or frustration. Saying that though, the last few levels were utterly brilliant and I felt this is where the game really stood out and redeemed itself. Unfortunately the second last level had a horrid difficulty spike whilst playing on hard, but the difficulty was fairly consistent throughout the rest of the game. It also has some of the best visuals I've ever seen in a game, so many jaw dropping moments throughout.

I already gave some early thoughts on Knack and just as I expected, the game got pretty repetitive at times. Some chapters just overstayed their welcome and often felt quite lazy in their design and overall execution. I did like the variation of particles Knacks acquires, but I felt some of them didn't really alter the gameplay much if at all. I liked the story and the characters, especially Knack himself who is just great, unfortunately most of the story was quite predictable but still enjoyable nonetheless. The game has some excellent moments though (especially the boss battles) and offers some challenging and fun fights. The last chapter was fantastic and I wish the rest of the game was as polished as that. If they do make a sequel, I hope that add some more platforming in to it, as I felt he combat outweighed this element by quite a margin. Fun game overall, I can now safely recommend it when it's a bit cheaper.

*bump*

I know I'm supposed to be taking a break as of now, but a classmate and I are having a retarded debate about next-gen consoles. I was asked if I had an Xbox One yet, and I replied no; I've never felt a reason to get any of the next-gen consoles, as none of them have a great exclusive library as of yet, and I am planning to just play on PC for a while. I was then told that the Xbox One has a "great" exclusive library, with Dead Rising 3, Call of Duty: Ghosts (also on PC), and Battlefield 4 (also on PC). I replied that two our of the three games he mentioned were also on PC. He replied that I should get the console because of Dead Rising 3. I replied that I don't want to get a $500 console for just one game, as I can play the rest on my gaming PC. He told me again that Dead Rising 3 was enough of a reason to get the console, and that I "shouldn't be afraid of new things." Needless to say, I was shocked at this incredibly dumb statement, and reiterated that I had a gaming PC which could easily handle next-gen, and that I'm not going to pay $560 just for one fucking game. I said that I thought all of the next-gen consoles, the Wii U, Xbox One, and PS4, all sucked at the moment, and I am waiting for a better library of exclusives before I spring on a new console. I said he agreed with me that the PS4 was a "bust" (which I never said), and the Wii U was a "bust" (which I never said), as they don't have any good games (which is fairly untrue if you think about it). I replied that it was unfair to judge the PS4 by the games in the first ONE MONTH of its release, and the Wii U might have a turnaround in the upcoming years, like what happened with the PS3. He didn't really have any coherent argument in reply, and reiterated that the Xbox One has the "best" games.

It seems as though the next-gen of humans is almost as dumb as the next-gen of consoles. What a perfect match!

Eh, doesn't seem to be a good defence just reiterating the same thing over and over despite said point put down again and again.
