And the word salad lyrics, don't forget the word salad lyrics.

Dammit Rulez, I can't stop listening to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" now. Such a simple and repetitive song with simple and repetitive lyrics, and simple and repetitive riffs and yet it's so addictive. I can see why MTV played it every other second back in the days of yore.

Ah, this song. Always results in me crying like a bitch or near it, but it's odd though. It's not a negative experience, but rather a positive one, yet it's not exactly tears of joy. But close. Whatever the emotion, I love it.

You just listed the reasons why songs get popular and played everywhere, why are you surprised it's addictive?

Exactly. Look up 7 Problems With Modern Music by Messy Mondays on YouTube. It'll explain the riff of pretty much every song ever.

The Storm feat. Michael Poulsen of Volbeat- B.S.E. (Black shot eyes).
I love Volbeat, but Michael's voice just complements so perfectly with Pernille Rosendahl's!

Aye, I seemed to have forgotten that nearly every song ever that's been popular has been repetitive, with some exceptions. Speaking of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" though, one time I told the bus driver to change the station to a rock one and that song had been playing and I remember everyone was looking at me with a near horrified expression. With the exception of sixth graders some of whom actually knew the song and weren't uptight.

Since when does this only apply to 'modern music' though?

Radiohead - Weird Fishes

If I ever make something that manages to capture the same mood as this song I'll be glad.
