I agree. I like to think that Ales wanted to follow in Mr Dark's footsteps but also stole/imitated the Magician's image in order to gain Rayman's trust.OldClassicGamer wrote:I sometimes like to imagine that R1 Magician and RO Magician are not same but I never imagined that any of them was Mr. Dark himself.

I disagree. As Origins was my first Rayman game that I really immersed into, I was introduced to the Magician as Ales. And with all that scrapped script hoot nanny, I always imagined how his villainous side would of been shown. It's fun to imagine. But I do respect opinions of others and maybe Ales did steal the Magician's image to gain Rayman's trust. It's just one that doesn't suit my taste.

I'm not new to the internet, I'm new to forums -.-, and I've learnt forums are different than skype, youtube and other kinds of websites, so I apoligize for my "stupidity".I also saw his YouTube channel. He is just a little kid so I believe he is really new to internet.
Just because I'm a 13 year old who has a child's voice, does not immediatly mean i'm new to the internet, in fact, my old accounts on other websites were created in 2004, It's like saying someone isn't a gamer because they've only played 1 genre of video games.
Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
Oh, nobody said you are stupid. We all start as newbies once anyways
As for new to internet thing and comparing it with gamers, a person who played only 1 genre could be a casual gamer but not a hardcore.

Whoa, 2004? So you were around 4 years of age when you started interneting? Heck, I can't remember exactly when we got internet, but I do think I was 10 when I got my email, it wasn't 'til 2010 that I started branching out to stuff like YouTube.
Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
Yeah, I did use the internet when I was 4, though I only used it to play some games XD
Even though I was too busy playing either Toy story 2 or sonic 3d ._.
Though I got my own email at around 2006/2007 ish :/
Anyways back to subject:
I never thought the Limbless magician was ales, I thought the magician went on holiday like Joe and tarayzan did at the end of the first game, and ales' design was simply to keep the feel of rayman 1's feel and characters.

Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
The Magician was presented in a way that he doesn't look nor act like him. They probably could have just made Ales a separate character. I doubt anyone went "WHOA HOLY SHIT WHOAAA" when they found out he was the villain anyway.

at one point i might have, had it not been for an english teacher, books, and marvel movies teaching me to expect everything. I predicted iron-man 3 and epic's entire plotlines... and was right :/Bradandez wrote:Bradandez wrote:Ahem. I did.
Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
Actually I spoiled myself with Origins' ending when I first bought the game. It was when I discovered RayWiki and read about the Magician and his history, was when the shock value kicked in.

I did spoil myself beforehand, but I don't think it would have been any less lacklustre if I hadn't done so.Keane wrote:The Magician was presented in a way that he doesn't look nor act like him. Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
Throughout the game, I never even thought Ales was old Magician. I discovered that with help of RayWiki. I just called him Bad Teensie when I first played game. I thought he was impersonating Magician. I never even connected him with Mr. DarkKeane wrote:The Magician was presented in a way that he doesn't look nor act like him. Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
Actually, that makes an interesting headcanon. Ales impersonating both a villain and a friend simultaneously. Following Mr Dark's footsteps while using the image of the Magician to lower suspicion.

That makes even less sense that what happens in the game.
Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
While I don't believe it in canon, it's still an awesome theory. Even if it's disprove by the writing staff(Who didn't put all the story parts in the game) the possibilities are limited but awesome.

Re: Is the Classic magician Mr.dark?
I also did. Though I spoiled it for myself with wiki. But it wasn't as much "Oh S**T!!" as it was heartbreak. The Magician was pretty much the icon of the Rayman games in my childhood. I guess it's one of the personal reasons I dislike Origins.Keane wrote:The Magician was presented in a way that he doesn't look nor act like him. I also refuse to believe that they're the same person. But lately I've had a headcanon (as seen in the Rayman headcanons thread) that Mister Dark and the Magician both used to be Ales Mansay until he used a spell to purge all the evil from his heart. From that day forth he left behind his life to pursue sorcery, knowledge, and benevolence as the Magician, while the evil that was purged eventually became Mister Dark.
But if they were ever to touch, they would fuse back together and become Ales Mansay once more.
