I actually wanted to polish the version I have now up more to release a much nicer demo on this forum. But you guys were faster^^
Most of the levels have some added detail now (like signs and decoration stuff). And Level 7 is finished since quite a while too.

First, you need a doom source port for windows, like ZDoom or PrBoom (I use Zdoom, but everything can be done exactly the same way with PrBoom).da1 wrote:PS. How the Hell open that demo?!!!!oneone!!1!
However, a source port needs the original game file. For that, just download FreeDoom, a game which has all the original data that the source port needs: http://www.nongnu.org/freedoom/index.html (Download "Complete I-Wad" at the Download page)
After that, extract Zdoom (or Prboom) and Freedoom into a folder, pull "RaymanDoomDemo5maps" over the application icon with your mouse and select Freedoom (in case it doesn`t start on its own).
Buut here is the problem: It will look extremely unpolished and weird this way, because this version of the demo uses original Doom graphics that I not included in the file. So you will get unfitting replaced graphics from Freedoom all over the place - thats why I wanted to create a polished version with fitting original graphics for this forum, because many here don`t own the original Doom game. Also, Zdoom is able to add extra functions like looking up and down, jumping, blood splats on the wall after killing enemies or transparent projectiles like rockets shot by enemies. All these extras were not in the original game and I also didn`t consider them to be used in Rayman Doom. In the polished version, all these things will be disabled, and it will also include the right source port with Freedoom all set up to play.

OK, i win this demo... The last level is most frustrating one. Add the opton of jump, please. Fun with physics like great impetus helping you "jumping" from platform to platform is nice, but hard to learn. I lost 30 minutes with these awesome rising and falling platforms at end, and what now I see? The wall opens and the pirates trying to stole my last 13% HP...

After some searching at Google I found another demo of that game:

Also I noticed one thing about gameplay- Hoodstormer death animation is uncompleted (that means when it's dying it becomes dead Cacodemon

I have got a lot of ideas for gameplay, levels, etc. So MMMorshew, please bring that project back. That would be awesome.
Also if you have got Freedoom as IWAD, 8th level would be very....weird? I know that isn't Rayman DOOM level but when I saw Globoxes everywhere and that beautiful and sad music...

Bump out of curiosity, is this project dead per chance? Next to ROTD and RayTunes this was one of my first encounters with the RPC, and I thought this project actually looked kind of awesome. Fairly unique concept too, I thought. It's not usually all that common to take one game in one genre, and then throw it into a completely different one while still retaining a similar-esque feel to it.
Though there seems to have been no updates on this thing for quite literally ages. I'd love to know the status on this at this moment in time, whether you decided to halt it or life got in the way somehow, anything on the subject would be nice.
It'd be a bit of a shame to see that it's died a horrible death or something, but y'know. Happens sometimes, eh?

This seems like a fun little TC. While I have nothing against the violence against Teensie, because the pirates are that violet, but I don't feel like Rayman should us a real gun. It just feels weird.
