Graphically, I personally think the HD is a bit deceptive, the resolution's been upped, sure, but they've also managed to put in a ton of graphical quirks and issues that I personally don't like, and considering that one can force HD in the PC version without said graphical quirks and issues (though granted, it instead screws up the menus and HUD), I don't really see the need to switch to it.

Here's a few examples of the graphical glitches:
https://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:Rayma ... k_Ugly.jpg
https://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:Rayma ... ater_2.jpg
https://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:Rayma ... _Water.jpg

Gameplay-wise, The HD version also has one game breaking glitch that'll prevent you from accessing the Tower of the Leptys, if you play the game in sequence you'll be fine, but if you dare backtrack before you've beaten the game, you'll have problems. Other than that, it plays as normal, but it doesn't contain the GCN extras.

Vocally, I can't say for sure, however, I do know some lines are cut or censored, make of that what you will.

If you want more information on the changes in the HD version, here's our RayWiki article on it: https://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/Rayman_3_HD

Well, RibShark will fix R3 menus and HUD issue on PC once ;)
As for first picture, ew, that is ugly :beurk:
But HD version is better alternative than playing Xbox version on 360. That thing has no audio and crushes after first level...

How the fuck did they manage to mess that up?
IMHO, the HD-version is just another lazy port. All the UI-graphics look like scaled up and sharpened with a filter. Just play on PC (GoG.com) if you want HD and play on PS2/GC/XB if you want (still working) controller support.

PC version fully supports the controller I purchased from Haruka. I didn't try 360 controller though.

I was able to use my PS3 controller on it once I'd gotten it to run on my PC.

360 would probably work then too. Funny how official R3 controller does not work on Win 7 according to others.

What an interesting perspective... while I can't say that's true, possibly the textures of the plum got mixed with the water? I don't know, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The water is probably using a texture-based reflection, so if that's how the plum's texture is laid out, then the water material there could be trying to grab the wrong texture to use as a reflection map.

This definitely makes me prefer the GameCube and PC version I have of Rayman 3.

Also to add to forcing HD resolutions on Rayman 3 PC, I found that 16:9 ratio based resolutions keep the cinematics from showing, but this is no trouble on 16:10 ratio resolutions. (Which was definitely one of the lovely benefits of my Sony CRT, 1920 x 1200 with Rayman 3 looking fantastic!)

Kind of too bad I don't have a 2560 x 1600 display to try the game on (IPS based monitor.), which ought to look beautiful as well.

Just tried out, it works ideed. When I tried it with my old PC a year ago it only recognized the buttons, but not the Analog Stick.
Well then, PC is probably the best version to play.

PC version requires a small patch (someone has made one) for controllers to work on some PC's (such as mine).

I made a new orchestration of Inside the Fairy Council :P. It's pretty different from the original soundtrack.

You might want to check out the Rare images thread, any R3 beta images we're aware of will be lying amongst the various posts within that topic.

Is there a free download for Rayman Print studio anywhere? I'd love to try it out.
