I can't say I follow, but I'll give it a shot from what I can comprehend.
There's a beta image of RL, in the forest, where the Magician's hat can be found underneath a hollow tree trunk.
 
My guess is when in the E3 demo there was a bonus room and had Dark Rayman in it, as well as the Magician's hat.
