Re: The You Game!
< points out that quotes alone don't validate the "^" symbol!

< sees ^'s point, but < prefers to do that than have a long line of "^"

Ok, so ^^^ should've said "^ · 131 is right about..." then?

< points out that technically it would be "^131". < points out that this isn't the PAY game though so technically the word "you" is usable. < should stop since < is neither a mod nor Xenesus.Shrooblord wrote:Ok, so ^^^ should've said "^ · 131 is right about..." then?

Hehe, < is also trying to do <'s best in keeping up with ^ and the rest of the folk in the ULR thread, < isn't well versed with the art of Hex editing.

Re: The You Game!
Not really - what is a 'you' to the power of 131 even represent? Is that a 131th iteration of that person? Is it that person times themselves? What does that even mean?PluMGMK wrote:< points out that technically it would be "^131". < points out that this isn't the PAY game though so technically the word "you" is usable. < should stop since < is neither a mod nor Xenesus.Shrooblord wrote:Ok, so ^^^ should've said "^ · 131 is right about..." then?
If we're getting technical here, <'s going the full monty.

Re: The You Game!
< says that when we write the symbol "^" twice, it means "^ × ^", i.e. "^2". Therefore if we write it 131 times in succession, it is "^ × ^ × ^ × … × ^", i.e. "^131". < supposes it would be less confusing if we worked with indices using anything other than a symbol which can itself be used to represent indices.Shrooblord wrote:Not really - what is a 'you' to the power of 131 even represent? Re: The You Game!
< guesses that works since i3 equals i · i · i. However, since '^' is a direct reference to a name, <'s scientist self gets shoved aside for <'s programmer self and that person immediately substitutes '^' with its assigned value as if it were a variable.
So, PluMGMK, what does PluMGMK think of PluMGMK and ShrooblordShrooblord's discussion?

Re: The You Game!
Hmm, < would've thought ^^ would represent 2 x ^ in the context of the You Game, but if we're talking proper maths, ^^ would be ^2

Re: The You Game!
Master speaks wise words that Shrooblord tried to relay to PluMGMKPluMGMKPluMGMK as well.
Shrooblord's programmer self took over and is now calling all instances of references to be represented as the value they reference, as opposed to the variable assigned to them as their display value! Build error! Could not compile~~

< has been playing "La Bombe !" on this site for years, which is why < gets so mathematical in these off-topic games.

Um…
d(<'s posts per day)/dt > 0 => d(<'s satisfaction)/dt > 0
d(<'s posts per day)/dt > 0 => d(<'s satisfaction)/dt > 0

Re: The You Game!
< sees Plum has given us two differential equations, in which he describes the rate of posts per day and rate of satisfaction.
