Birthdays and ages

Yeah, I'm sad because of that, though my parents don't mind if I drink at friends or at home

The age of consent is considered to be eighteen, but anyone under nineteen is considered a minor.

In my opinion, it shouldn't be illegal to drink at any age, rather, our culture should have our parents introduce us to and teach us how to be responsible with alcohol. Way back when that was the case, kids would usually get a small glass during a meal, and that lead it not to be seen as a rebellious act, so their misuse was far less common among the population.

Lol, the punishments for under-age drinking here are so harsh it's basically entering the black market.

That makes sense. Usually when something is placed off-limits people will try to find ways to step over that limit, which can land them in trouble.
