I didn't like it very much. Excellent final act, but the rest was tedious. Sold it towards Mario Kart 8.Rayfist wrote:I can understand Donkey Kong but why Wind Waker HD? One of the best games for the Wii U right now.

I enjoyed that game, but it wasn't something I could replay like Mario or Rayman.Bradandez wrote:You sold Donkey Kong!? You MONSTER!

I've heard Returns is a much better game, so I plan on getting that soon.Bradandez wrote:Really? I enjoyed Returns and still enjoy to this day. Hoping to get Tropical Freeze along with a Wii U when the holidays come.

Just because I described it bland doesn't mean it fully is, what I mean to say is in comparison to the older DK Country games, stuff like that was nothing in comparison. I don't see what's so mind-bogglingly awesome about freezing your homeland. If I freeze Peach's castle will that create some sort of new experience?Bradandez wrote:Tropical Freeze may have the worlds "bland" because that's how you described them. Tropical Freeze features a Shipwrecked Island, Windmill Hills dominated by Owls, a bright Savannah that escalates to a Hellish Landscape, a Fruit Factory that included the most juiciest of fruits, and the Home of Donkey Kong converted to an Icy Fortress.
It's a HELL of a lot better than a plank of wood.Bradandez wrote:And don't go on about how the new enemy of Returns is just a fucking plank of wood. In DCK 1, King K. Rool's just a crocodile with a fucking cape and a crown.
It's a fucking Donkey Kong game. Are you seriously expecting a cohesive well detailed plot and reason for why the enemies want to rid of DK and friends? This isn't story complex like Rayman 2 or Final Fantasy, lol. That sounds nearly as ridiculous as wanting to know the full reason why Bowser captures Peach. Nobody cares about the itty bitty details for games like that.Bradandez wrote:And the Snowmads are fucking great. They feel threatening and have a purpose to get of rid of DK and pals. Lord Fredrick and the Snowmads want his Island just to expand his kingdom and possibly even further. King K. Rool wanted the banana hoard for what? Just to piss DK off? Okay! Hell, even Tiki Tong wanted the bananas for a reason! To make him more powerful with the addition of hands. It's stupid but still a reason!
And I'm entirely sick of hearing people like you calling us out as "nostalgia fags" when the original DK Trilogy was FAR far superior. I've said it before, it's missing that special Rareware recipe that Nintendo can't match. It's no different than the reasons why majority of us on the community like a lot of the older Rayman games better then the news ones. And before you go out calling me for nostalgia, that is actually far from the truth. I actually vastly preferred the Mario 64 DS remake over the original N64 one as well as Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D. That has nothing to do with nostalgia. I never grew up with Donkey Kong Country 3 and even playing that after beating DK Country Tropical Freeze was a MUCH better experience.Bradandez wrote:I'm sorry for flipping out, because every time something new comes along people are automatically gonna dismiss it saying "it's not as good as the original" or "it's different now it sucks"! Like UGH!!! How do you possibly now that?
Why do you just jump to the conclusion that this has to do with nostalgia? A good example of nostalgia fags are those who prefer Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow over Firered and Leafgreen. This has nothing to do with nostalgia. Even taking off the nostalgia glasses I have a far better experience. It lacks the Rareware feel, it isn't the same. There are no massively bright lights to accompany the specific area I'm in.Bradandez wrote:Sure, if you played it and have your reasons then yeah. But otherwise, it's annoying and obnoxious.
You remind me of someone who I argued with over Facebook who complained that Crash: Wrath Of Cortex was a bad game because they didn't do anything new. Here's the kicker: You can still do something new while keeping the old formula. People say that Crash of The Titans was a good game because it did something new, I call bullshit, it did something new in a far too vastly drastic way that made it so majority of us at the time weren't even able to recognize that it was a Crash game. Hell, I didn't even grow up with a Super Nintendo as I had a SEGA Genesis, yet I felt the SNES had a stronger library, that has nothing to do with nostalgia.Bradandez wrote:People want the old and criticize on how the want the company to do something new. Hypocrisy much?
