Next time wait for a couple of posts to go over it then. ;PRayfist wrote:He's fucking around, we were skyping and I told him he should quote something from the game Hatred to see the reaction people got. It was pretty hilarious and we were both dying.

That quote looks like something that could have been copied from a deviantart comment after their parents made them do their laundry.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
so there's this person i talk to sometimes and i don't think they like me much but i really like them
i've tried everything i've tried getting into their fandoms i've tried sending them things they might like i reblog their posts i do it all and i think they liked me once but for whatever reason they just don't any more
they never reply back to anything i post or it'll just be a lol or they'll outright shoot down what i have to say and they've never actually said they dislike me but,,, it,,, kind of seems that way it's always been implied or at least for the last few days
when i tried asking someone else about it they were like "this is how you lose friends just ASK if they don't like you oh my god" like thanks i'll just. stop having anxiety then. like you fucking care, random person on homestuck website.
ugh i don't know this is depressing me and this isn't the first time this has happened (it always seems to be the 20something year olds) (am i too young for them or what)

You know better what this person is like/what you're doing, but perhaps they feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of your being in their fandoms/sending them things/reblogging etc.? Or they have other things going on with their life? It might be the best idea to ask them straight. With anxiety its hard - I personally find it easier to be blunt and open about such things and in that way steel myself up for a fall, but you're not me of courseMLII wrote:i've tried everything i've tried getting into their fandoms i've tried sending them things they might like i reblog their posts i do it all and i think they liked me once but for whatever reason they just don't any more

Oh, you know, chillin' out in the afterlife being a sexy internet angel. S'good. AW LEMME GIB U A HUGGLE *squeeze* Real talk, it was you worrying that I was dead (somewhere in the You Game, methinks) that brought me back here. I made a biggish Halloween post in the introduce yourself topic so I refer you there for the lowdown on the Candish situation, if you so desire
How have YOU been? Am I right in thinking at least one of my Milly OTPs is sailing?
None of what you said sounds too creepy-stalky at all, but everyone's different. Do ask 'em if you feel up to it!

Just checked, it was posted in 2012. Nothing to apologise for, we were all 14... 1... 4?... once. And OTPs which have Millsers as a participant~ and I think I know with whom~ it was my second pairing for you, and a jolly sight healthier than the other one.
College, huh? What are you studying now? Sheesh my baby's growing up...
(Just thinking, maybe if this continues we should take it to PM?)

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
This is of course an entirely personal conversation, but I'd like to add that I'm happy to see MLII has someone to talk to around here now you're back, Candish. You always seem to not get along very well with everyone else here, MLII, and I find that saddens me sometimes. Good to see there's friends around. :3
As for your problem, if I have anything more to add, it's that sometimes, even if you do up front confront someone with 'do you like me yes or no' (no matter what context, really), they'll fall silent and not reply, even if you talk to them in person. Needless to say, that's clear enough of a signal in itself - if they can't even muster the respect to tell you outright, they're not worth fussing over.
But when it comes to non-face-to-face contact, things get a little tricky. I know someone who won't reply for weeks on end, and then suddenly come out with 'Oh hey - forgot to reply.' Everyone's a little different and you've just gotta figure out if you want to keep trying if people seem to be turning away from you. If not - find someone else! There's always someone that's gonna be your friend. Don't shy away from new people - they're just friends you haven't met yet!

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Well, this whole move has been quite a benefit for the family. Only now the house has been in complete disarray for what feels like a week. Very little has been done as far as organization goes. I'm having to sit on the floor in front of my crude computer set-up, which is a pain on my legs and lower back. And I still have to share this space with my sister. I love her dearly, but it doesn't help to have her play videos almost all the time behind me on her laptop. I can't use my tablet because I have zero table space for it, which doesn't help me get anything done art-wise, as I have a comic I'm been paid to work on and I can't work on it. It also doesn't help that I've had no desire to do any schoolwork, which is quickly becoming a problem. I have so much crap to catch up on and I can't do it. All these little things add up for me and it's hurting me. I want to get things organized so I can live and work in a healthier environment. I can't keep sitting like this. I have to move around and do something, but I can't. There's noise both inside and outside the room (my mom is also watching TV right now) and I can't block it out. Seriously, I want to cry right now.

I love that word, it has such a charming ring to it, almost somewhat French-sounding.Earth Gwee wrote:disarray
I know this is sort of a disposable piece of advice, but do you have a library nearby? I had a similar issue (well, still do), and for a brief period of time I managed to make myself go there, where you get plenty of space to work, free internet, and peace, where you'd be able to happily work on schoolwork and the webcomic.Earth Gwee wrote:It also doesn't help that I've had no desire to do any schoolwork, which is quickly becoming a problem. I say 'disposable', because it sounds like I put no effort into it, despite speaking from some experience actually going to one. While I did find it to be a beneficial solution, I usually found it to be too much work to make myself go to one. Home would wonder where I was and constantly interrupt me. If you're motivated enough to get to one regularly and feel it'll give you enough space to counteract the feeling of commitment, then definitely give it a try, it's very nice.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
The unfortunate thing about living in Arizona is that the cities are insanely widespread, so local libraries are not very local. They're certainly not within walking distance. At the moment, I'm feeling better. Pretty much the whole family is feeling pretty discouraged. But thankfully, things will start happening tomorrow.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Do you have a wall you could sit up against while you work? That should help your back out. If you notice you're looking down a lot, grab some hefty books and stack 'em under your monitor to raise it further up, about centre-to-top-half-of-the-screen - to - eye-level should be comfortable. I found I've used my drawing tablet sometimes without space with it perched upon by crossed legs while drawing on my laptop with it. It's not excellent since the laptop isn't as responsive as a desktop, but it gets the job done. And if it's your job that needs getting done, getting the job done will, well, get the job done.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
At least you have a bedroom (and a real bed, no?). Personnally I've been sleeping on a couch for one month and a half because my room is rent and I gotta find a job to move out of my parents' house. Plus I don't have any room at all: yes I could do stuff inside the room where the couch is, but there is no desk. Sitting on a mattress and trying to work or do things is not comfortable at all.Earth Gwee wrote:Well, this whole move has been quite a benefit for the family. And even when I'm going in the living room or another room in the basement, there is always somebody here or there: my father, my mother, etc...I'm feeling I'm annoying people just by standing in the room, while it shouldn't be the case. I don't really know if I'm feeling at home anyway since I went back from the US
Just to make you know you have buddies who have to deal with the lack of space too.
Annoying, huh? It's even more if you are Skype-ing while people are watching TV next to you. You can ask Hunch, he knows that well. I almost pissed him off with my mum watching TV.Earth Gwee wrote:(my mom is also watching TV right now)
I'll definitely advise you to do that as well. But if you don't have a driving license, it will be hard to follow that, especially if the first few times you have the impression it's not worth the investment to spend so much time going there for what you will do there. Best thing in that case is "leave the house at 8/9 AM to go to the library, stay ther all day long, come back home". But yeah, it doesn't seem really efficient. I did that when I was preparing concourses in prep schools, so I was simply working my ass off all day long in a library with a few friends of mine.Adsolution wrote:I know this is sort of a disposable piece of advice, but do you have a library nearby?
