Wow...I'm not here for two days and look at all these comments about leaks, rights, freedom, etc...

That was a very interesting reading (I'm not beign sarcastic). I felt I should criticize OCG's point of view at soem point because I disagree with his (for reasons already stated by several other members). But I didn't, and you know why?

Because I was afraid it would turn into a real war againt him. Guys, really, I know you all want to express your own fair share of opinions, but do not forget that having so many people against you, posting over and over and over again can be quite painful.

I'm not talking about Adsolution right here (he had the right to argue because he was directly implied into the debate), but a few other comments, although being completely understandable about people expressing their own point of view, were, to my mind, heavily unnecessary (for example, tech's one is rather moving the blade into the still fresh wound, correct me if it's not exactly how you say that).

Just putting my two cents here, because I wanted to remind you of the unseen impacts this type of conversation could have had on anybody.
 
Holy anal fissure that was probably the longest TL;DR heated debate I have ever not read because it's too long.

I get the gist though, and I honestly don't quite give a damn about the quarrels between an honest defensive content producer and a freedom fighting dubbed sadist but it's not a pleasant greeting after such a short span of absence...

Of course we all realise this, saer, and thanks for standing up for OCG. But in all honesty, probably none of us meant to gang up on him - each of us just seems to disagree with some of his statements. You see that, right, OCG? If you make some controversial statements ("Look, this guy's an idiot!"), you should be ready to get some words fired back at you.
 
I was going to say, it's one of those things where we forget that our walls of text are walls of text and that their effects stack. I generally go by the maxim "say a thing be prepared for people to say the thing is stupid". So I'm sorry, OCG, for being yet another voice in the cacophony (albeit a correct one :P)
 
It's perfectly fine for all of you to tell why you disagree with me when I say something you don't agree with. I in a no way hold any grudge against any of people who commented here and disagreed, nor do I feel insulted or anything. I shall be always expecting same every time I post unpopular statement and I am aware of that. And don't think I posted that to provoke or piss others off. I simply found the news article about Marvel planning to find who leaked trailer, decided to share it and say how I feel.
 
I completely understand the idea of the 'gang-up', but in this particular case, pretty much everyone was offering unique information that hadn't already been brought up by someone else. That fact that none of these people have made an impact is actually bad, because OCG doesn't understand that his actions are legitimately harmful; it goes beyond opinion territory. If there's nothing that can be done to change his mind, then so be it, there's no point in continuing, but it isn't something I'm going to simply brush off, pretend never happened and keep smiling. Legitimate problem, legitimate consequences. I hope that through the abundance of problems he'll face, he'll eventually figure it out for himself, then look back at how radically foolish he once was.

I feel that this example is also heavily unnecessary, but regardless, I was moreso trying to share some of my feelings and thoughts on the situation, and how I think some of the issues that have cropped up here have been present in many other of OCG's posts as well, not to "war against him" or anything.
 
Now, I know I'm the type to get into fantastical tangents, but I'm gonna take the blunt approach today (And, really, you could all use a hit or two considering how long this debate is.). The extreme leaves an impression, and that includes extreme blunt force trauma (Which leaves an impression of a crater in your head/ass. Prepare for references to MM's moon, or rosebuds -- no need to fear, Mr. Clean is here to cleanse your spleen.).

On point, from the little drops of TL;DR that I've bottled, I know this has to do with YouTube and copyrights, yes?
Is flinging words back and forth at a computer/phone on a video game forum going to affect this?

Well it was a point of discussion. I see no reason not discuss it, especially since it seems to have caught quite a few peoples' attention. And yes I didn't intend to sound like I was 'ganging up' on OCG either I just felt like my input was of worth at the time.

I want to clarify: even if you are simply expressing what you think about the matter, that fact it's piling up can be rather harsh even if it's not meant to be like that. Even if they are not harsh at first, words are here to stay, and after several readings they can be interpreted in a very different way from their original meaning.

Rest is fine, but what bugged me is that you seemed to pick up every little thing you disagree with in OCG's posts to put a simple sentence to answer them and show that they are irrelevant without arguing that much, and not adding everything new to the debate. It is not personnally against you, but there is a real difference at this level between your post and the others'.

How they get interpreted really isn't the responsibility of the poster, and shouldn't be a consideration (at least, not an important one) to the poster when posting. It's a public debate; there's really no reason not to enter so long as you're not "putting someone down," which no one here was doing.

Well, yeah, that's what we call icing. While it might not be "necessary," mild jabs and witty comments are a perfectly natural thing, and are often an integral part of your general tone (as was the case here). I speak my mind, and make little effort to censor myself to a great extent, like most everyone here.

That's a form of arguing that I often use in situations like these. If this was a more philosophical discussion where my view was less objective and more thought-provoking, I might have approached it differently, but in the case of a pretty unjustified "controversial" statement, this is a completely fine way of going about it.

Also, if a point can be shot down by nothing more than a single sentence, it tends to not be a very good one. :P

Undoubtedly, since, as individuals, we approach these sorts of arguments differently, as can be seen if you look at the differences in tone in all those who decided to add to the discussion. I suppose my tone here could be looked at as nasty at a glance, but it doesn't ever actually venture into the point of being such. It's perfectly justified; legitimate problem, legitimate consequences. It's also admittedly somewhat hard to feel that way (though, of course, I don't actually think that), when you went and singled me out for what I in no way see as a legitimate enough reason, the aforementioned "real differences" being no greater than Adsolution and Shrooblord's posts, for example.
