I just wanted to drop in and rant a tiny bit about Origin. I have SPORE, which is a game that was made for both PC and Mac. I have the discs to SPORE, Creepy and Cute and Galactic Adventures, all discs that were made to be played on either PC or Mac. Now, in this new house, I only have GA, because I already had the entire thing installed on my previous computer and needed the GA disc on launch to boot it up (verifying that I had the disc). So I went over to Origin to get my core SPORE game digital download, which I was granted because I installed the game through disc, a game I'd purchased and that's accessible to both PC and Mac, only to realise that Origin for some fucking reason only supports downloading the PC version because the digital downloads of both GA and Creepy and Cute only exist in PC form because...?!

So now I have to go over to my parents' house to pick up my old CDs. Not too big of a hassle, but a task that could've just been avoided had they provided both the Mac and PC versions of the game as digital download. I mean, the game was already made to play on both systems. It's not like they needed to port anything over to support it. All they needed to do was press 'host this game on our big-ass server' and it would've been fine. But no, that was too much to ask for.

Anyway, I guess that's my fault for trying to find support on a game made five years ago by one of the largest game companies in the world... (fuck you, EA). Origin is a piece of shit. But I'm sure everyone knew that already. This is just me jumping on that band wagon alongside you.

EA Sucks and Spore disc has horrible protection "StarForce" that can even result PC's to get fatal crash. Many complaints were in past because people were forced to format PC. Steam versions of Spore ganes are best.

I have heard about these crashes - in fact - I used to once be 'an authority' on tech support back in the days that the EAUK SPORE forum still existed. I had this 'most frequently asked questions' thread pinned up on the front page and e'rrythin'. In the end, it wasn't much - just experience of what people had asked before and how those cases were resolved, but it felt good being a tiny bit of an internet sensei for a while. ;)

Anyway, perhaps the Steam versions are best, yes, but I've had these discs for 5 to 6 years now, pretty much since launch (in the case of GA, it dropped into my mailbox the day it came out onto the market) - if I can get some support on my product without having to re-buy them, that's grand.

(Also Steam version doesn't support Mac - boo! Disc does, go figure.)

It was SecuROM, not StarForce, StarForce was Ubi, iirc. And yeah, it was off-putting to me, hence why I waited 'til I could get it on Steam.

First, you draw them.
Next, you color them black.
Then, you erase that awful color and re-color them in the purest of white.
Finally, you have fixed of one of God's mistakes.

I have a problem.
A while ago I bought a game's soundtrack and since it isn't on YouTube, I thought I'd put it there. It's been a few months and I still haven't done anything about it yet cos it might be illegal. I might get a buttload of subscribers and views from it but I'm still unsure. Asking around doesn't seem to be helping but I thought I'd try again. What do I do?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. Do you want advice on whether or not to keep the video online or to monetise it or something?

Lately, I have been very depressed. One reason for my depression is because there is this girl I like. So much, in fact, that I would give my own life to save hers. However, I am getting mixed signals from her, and non of which seem to be that she likes me. Sometimes she acts like a friend, and sometimes an enemy. My "friends" I should give up because she probably does not like me. How exactly should I approach the situatin?

Well, it would seem from what you're saying that she indeed doesn't like you in that way. Those mixed signals don't sound particularly mixed at all to me; they sound like the outworking of how I would act to indicate to some men that I do not wish to be pursued. The best thing to do is respect this, and her. It can be really hard to get over someone, particularly when you feel as strongly as you do, but finding ways to manage these kinds of feelings is a necessary part of growing up. She has her own life, her own desires and needs, and you have yours. Are you particularly close to this girl? Is she within your group of friends (or 'friends')?

The most important thing I can say is that the likelihood she doesn't love you does not mean you are unloveable. There are so many other people, so many other relationships - and so many other kinds of relationships! - that you are worthy of and that are worthy of you. You are worth love, in all its forms, even if one particular person does not offer it. The internet can be very useful here, because you are able to talk to a vast variety of people with different lives and backgrounds, many of whom will get you and appreciate you. Sure, we're physical beings, but look at all the things we've invented to enable us to transcend this! Telephones! Computers! Aeroplanes! The loneliness and rejection you might feel right now is natural, but it doesn't have to be forever.

I'm sure this whole affair must hurt terrible inside you. Just know that she is not everything.

That sounds like my first experience falling in love with someone. I have since learned to keep myself composed slightly. Although it's incredibly exciting to lose yourself completely in someone else, it's important that you don't and retain what's important to you, what makes you you. Not losing yourself in fantasies of sacrificing yourself for her is a big part in that, trust me.

As for the rest, I believe Jewish is a far better advisor than I am.

Love is thrilling and exhillerating. You feel warm and fuzzy in literally all places of your body. Your love can make you smile and happy just by showing up somewhere and sometimes you can literally drop everything for a moment to lose yourself in them. And it's weird. Lots of people make mistakes with love - it turns into obsession, something that's like an evil shadow of its former self. Obsession sucks, man. You never feel satisfied and you know you never can be; the point of obsession is that you'll always want more. Be careful with the people (and things! (Rayman fandom cough cough)) you love - treat it like a beautiful flower. Lovely, delicate, precious.

And the fall of losing someone can be hard. It's bitter and it's rough, but it's oh so worth it. I'd take a thousand heartbreaks a day if that means I can fall in love again every week. But that's the beauty of it, too, for me. I only fall in love upwards of three times in one year. It's rare and that makes me treasure it all the more. Don't be afraid of love, guys and gals, or what it brings with it, but be aware of all aspects of it and respect them equally. Losing someone is terrifying, yes, but it's not the end of the world. It really isn't, even though I know what you feel in those very first moments and the long weeks after. I know. But it's alright. In the end, it will always be alright again one of your next days.
