Unpopular opinions on Rayman

Maybe, but I do have another unpopular opinion

Rayman legends artstyle is better than rayman origins artstyle. I know I’ve said the opposite before but I’ve changed my mind
I kinda agree, Legends definitely has better lighting and shadow effects.

Everybody on this forum would agree with you, but Dumbo ‘s probably gonna make you his worst enemy now

Unpopular(?) opinion: the Ubiart games are way overrated.

I'd say only Legends is overrated.

Each and every Rayman game has had its identity, art-wise and gameplay-wise and Origins most certainly fit that trend. It comes after a classic 2D platformer, a 3D platformer, a 3D brawler and several party games and it is... a 2D die-and-retry, with an art-style that you can't really say resembles the games that come before.

Legends, though, is more of Origins but a tad different. So in my mind that one is overrated.

A game can certainly be good and overrated, which is what I believe about Rayman Legends. The series has just so much more to offer. Although I do like how they got rid of those “sexy” nymphs :beurk:

It's always interesting comparing Origins and Legends, cause they're more of the same cloth than any other Rayman game is, but I'd say on the whole I find Origins the more satisfying game to complete, even if Legends has substantial portions of Origins already and has far more content on the whole. There's something to be said about having a narrative (even as watered down and botched as it was), rather than the rather empty narrative of Legends.

It also helps having bosses that have some personal connections to events at large, I suspect this one isn't an unpopular opinion, but man alive - Hades is such a dull and out-of-nowhere boss to end things on. It's funny cause I think Legends' boss fights in general are much more involved than the ones in Origins, but I still find Origins' battles to be more satisfying.

Many people consider the true final boss of rayman legends to be big mama. The game doesn’t really have a final one though, imo

Unpopular opinion: Rayman 2 looks boring as hell, people often sell it to me as the best-written episode of the series with endearing characters, but no, Rayman 3 does that a thousand times better, apart from some interesting music, nothing looks fun, even the gameplay, Rayman can't even throw his fist, I thank him at least for bringing Globox, Polokus and the Teensies.
Watching an entire let's play of Rayman Revolution was the most boring experience of my life and I would probably never play the game :mefiant:

Also I hate the way Rayman 2 replaced Rayman 1, it went from one of the most beautiful games with magnificent hand-drawn designs to a mush of polygons (let's add the fact that Rayman 2 was much more daring in terms of change but it’s Origins that gets spit on)

Woah calm down there, politically extreme Greengoop
(But I agree with everything you say, thanks for having the courage to say this )

Well, the people who spit on Origins have probably actually played it  But I agree Origins is way more stimulating and deserves props for that. Rayman 2 relies on atmosphere and giving the impression of a place.

I have to wonder how old you two guys are.

No assumption of Hugo but based on our interactions Green you're into your early twenties right?
