Re: Star Wars
Of course. I actually haven't watched any of the trailers yet, but if it ends up being a carbon copy of The Empire Strikes back, in the same way Force Awakens was a copy of A New Hope, I will be pretty upset.
Speaking of Star Wars, with the height of all this EA Pay 2 win drama, I started to try out the original 2005 Battlefront 2. The game honestly holds up way better than I thought. Still a lot of fun to play and really is the definitive Star Wars game. It does a great job at actually immersing you into a Star Wars scene. Too bad the online doesn't work so well, as the CPU's are pretty easy.

Didn't know they restored the original BF2's multiplayer. A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.Rayfist wrote:Speaking of Star Wars, with the height of all this EA Pay 2 win drama, I started to try out the original 2005 Battlefront 2. Don't forget to try out mods and maps for this game too, since this is what makes it stand out from many other shooters. Check out this wonderful, updated and gigantic map archive containing links to hundreds of player-made maps and mods (with an important amount of lost ones and broken links, though), classified according to their game modes.
Re: Star Wars
I think hope Disney is aware of the issue and knows that remaking Empire Strikes Back as Ep.8 is not the safe approach.Rayfist wrote:if it ends up being a carbon copy of The Empire Strikes back, in the same way Force Awakens was a copy of A New Hope, I will be pretty upset.
I also like to imagine Force Awakens as the concatenation of the original trilogy rather than A New Hope remade, which would validate my hopes but a this point it's wishful thinking.

Re: Star Wars
So I have the 2015 Battlefront game, and I was wondering if it is worth buying the new Battlefront II game? How different is it from the 2015 one? I considered buying it for Christmas, but the price was too high for me since it's still pretty much newly released, and I felt it wouldn't be a lot different until the DLCs are available.

Re: Star Wars
Draw your own conclusions, but at the same time, be aware that there's currently a very massive storm around Battlefront II in regard to what many perceive to be its P2W progression system and badly done online functionality.

Re: Star Wars
BFII is... kind of okay, as a game. My brother got it on launch, and having only watched him play a few games I could tell it was kind of buggy and unbalanced. In one, his AT-ST almost immediately got stuck on a wall it wasn't even supposed to be able to get on, and it took like two whole minutes before someone could kill him to reset. The most annoying thing about the game to me is how hard it is to see what's going on sometimes - you can't tell if an enemy ship is flying towards or away from you if you're on a similar trajectory, something they could've fixed by either showing a directional arrow or maybe changing the colour of the reticule, and certain characters are far easier to pick out in the dark, through bushes or from a distance, which could mean the difference between becoming a blazing target and almost completely invisible, which I don't think was intended to be a mechanic.
It basically felt like it was still in beta when it came out. Though it has some nice scenes, the campaign is also mediocre. I wouldn't really recommend it, especially given that it's pretty much the definition of pay-to-win in multiplayer which just makes you both frustrated and depressed trying to play the game "normally".
I haven't played the original so I can't compare, but assuming they aren't drastically different games, the fact that this one is so unpolished is totally unacceptable.

Re: Star Wars
I hope your bro didn't buy into any of those booty boxes, god bless.
Anywho BFII drama aside, I saw The Last Jedi.
Can't say much without spoiling, usually I need to watch a movie a second time to give better impressions but from my first viewing: I think it's miles better than Force Awakens. The only minor similarity I could draw to Empire Strikes back was Perhaps a lot of my enjoyment was influenced by the really hype crowd but I do have to say the part where honestly had me pretty fucking hyped. However it kind of sucks that Also there were some
I did say it was better than Force Awakens, but as it stands as a movie... dunno, I'll need to check it again to form a better impression.

Re: Star Wars
I just got back from watching The Last Jedi, and overall, I did like it. I can see why it's controversial, mind, but I seem to be tending to the liked it side. I'll have to rewatch it when it's out on disc to see if my opinion has changed. But for now, overall positive for me.
I will say I did see some parallels with V and VI, namely All in all though, it felt a lot more unique, even with these parallels, compared to Force Awakens. I also am a bit bemused with
Something which I did appreciate was how they included a locale which felt more shiny and akin to the prequels, as opposed to the industriousness or ruggedness of the OT. Also enjoyed the . Space battles were also nice to look at, though that's something which I don't think Star Wars has ever really faltered at.
Didn't like how I also wasn't too enamoured by

Re: Star Wars
It was decent? I'm a little disappointed because I heard a couple people say it was better than the low expectations I had for it, and yeah it wasn't an Episode 5 rehash, and yeah I liked that they rejected some predictable directions, but fundamentally it was still just as clunky, cheesy and underwhelming as the previous two movies. My predictions for Episode 9 are barely different from what they were before seeing this, which is kind of ridiculous seeing as the whole shtick was to have a plot twist every 5 minutes.
Some of the plot twists just sucked dick too, they introduce this whole subplot where they do this and that and go there and etc etc, and then they reveal that all of that was completely pointless (for a reason that makes no sense) - cool twist ! Then they use that to have an awkward character development moment where they try to imply that this character was wrong for...trying to save the rebels? What was the message there, obey shitty authority
I also got triggered when they seemed to be about to heavily divert from the formula and really change the direction of these movies, only to twist again and the epic reveal this time is that that all turned out to be untrue and they're actually just gonna stick to the gayest most predictable approach they could've opted for.
But for the positives Rey became a more likable character with a better arc, Kylo Ren was great, Luke could've been any random old Jedi man (their justification for him being a completely different character was just as out of character) but had some decent moments. Everything was nicely shot, the battles were fun, a few charming scenes, etcit was ok

Re: Star Wars
Yeah, i thought it was kinda lame. Only parts I thoroughly enjoyed were the Kylo Ren scenes. Much preferred 'The Disaster Artist' which I saw just before.

Re: Star Wars
Just watched the trailer for Solo. Honestly, not intrigued by it. Love Han Solo, but nothing from the trailer excited me enough to go see it in May.

The Mandalorian – Official Trailer 2:
Hopefully that assassin droid has a prominent role in the series, because they are one of my favorites.

Re: Star Wars
Apparently Obi-Wan Kenobi was awful (according to the titles that I have read).

Re: Star Wars
I watched it and thought it was okay but maybe I'm not the one to ask as I'm not a big Star Wars fan. Honestly, Obi Wan is kind of cool.

From what I'm hearing, people are complaining a lot about the stunts and the choreography.

Re: Star Wars
Great drawing! Are you a Star Wars fan?
Re: Star Wars
Unfortunately yes.
I love the original movies and can tolerate the prequels, therefore I must have an interest into most things Star Wars related, even though most of them are shit nowadays.
I have a similar relationship with Kingdom Hearts.
