The You Game!

This talk of BG&E is making < consider getting the remaster on Switch and trying to see if I can get through it to the end this time...

< reminds everyone here getting the new version of the dire warning from ^:
Clearly the remastered version is cursed, and the original is the only way to go :P
:hap:

It's funny, < played the original like a month before starting <'s first internship, then felt that it would bookend things if < left <'s job after playing the remaster. But thanks to good old inertia, actually leaving the job took like ten months, two playthroughs, and a compulsory redundancy! :fou:

^'s got < there. Who knows though, maybe one person's curse is another person's blessing?

(Or is that just wishful thinking?)

Still, sounds like ^ managed to get some playthroughs out this time, prophecies can be subverted!

< wouldn't really call the ending a cliffhanger. The story gets fully resolved, there's just a (strong) hint that something else is about to happen next. A bit like Rayman 3's ending if you don't realize it's a flashback!

Y'know, < can't exactly recall the ending of BG&E, it's been quite a long time since < last played it. < has remembered what to do so far at the beginning, so that's good. :)

< isn't sure if it's a cliffhanger in the strictest sense, but it was still very much of the vein of wanting players to want more.

How long has it been now anyways, almost 22 years? < thinks we Rayman fans have had it pretty good compared to that...

Yeah, that is rather true, at least after the whole Rabbids fiasco, we had Origins and Legends to make up for it.

If <'s memory serves < correctly, wasn't BG&E 2 teased upon with two entirely different versions of the game? < Isn't sure what the whole situation is with it anymore since nothing kept coming from any of it.

So there was a leak of some gameplay of Jade getting chased in a crowded almost favela like environment if < remembers correctly. And there was teaser trailer where Peyj was repairing a car while Jade was meditating in the background. < believes that was the initial version of BG&E2 before it got put on hold for Rayman Origins?

The second is the one we saw a trailer for about, I want to say almost a decade ago at this point? Where it was now going to be a multiplayer game that took place before the original game, and would feature Jade's parents?

< Is going off the top of <'s head, so these details are blurry and < insists on being fact checked.

The one thing < certainly doesn't want is a multiplayer game out of a BG&E game, but < knows Ubisoft will do whatever they wish. Look at Rayman Raving Rabbids.

<'s friend had said someone blamed the Nintendo Wii for Rayman 4 getting scrapped in favor for a Rayman party game due to the Wii controls.

< feels that historically, that's usually what happens with Ubisoft in a nutshell.

Regardless, < is still pleased with the 20th Anniversary Edition of BG&E. Even if it unfortunately uses the Ubi app. :(

< Says that depends if ^ wants to play it on newer hardware or not. < has the old PC release and a PS2 version, but < wanted that nice experience with <'s PC, especially with the ultrawide OLED monitor.

Hmmm..

< prefers the Xbox version because < would rather play games on their original hardware rather than on releases.

< recalls it not having widescreen on Xbox either. < will be happy to try out the new one, assuming there aren't any drawbacks to doing so.

< is waiting on the Globox plushie order page, < can't wait to get <'s ordered! :)

< knows ^ is probably eying it as well.
