Rayman Headcanons

I'm way into headcanons and made-up stuff. It's pretty much what I spend half of the time doing, heheh. And the inconsistencies/unanswered questions of the Rayman storyline tend to leave a lot to one's imagination.

Same here! Although most of it just ends up as vivid daydreams if I lack the patience/motivation to write/draw it.

I tend to make things up when discussing with others, like Dragon. But I don't really do much headcanon making in my own time.

I do it all the time. Burning only write it down when I'm motivated.

And this isn't technically a headcanon, in my opinion, but I sometimes like to think that The Magician had been secretly in love with Betilla since they were about teenagers. But he gave up when they became adults and took on serious responsibilities, Betilla having more important things to think about as Protoon guardian and him being a master magician.

Pfft, teenage love is overrated IMO. XD I would see it more as they were friends from childhood and kinda became casual lovers somewhere during adulthood. Despite Betilla's role as the Guardian of the Great Protoon, and the Magician's role as the guardian of the Book of Knowledge, they do seem to spend a fair amount of time together in the learning spinoffs.

The childhood thing is what I meant. I just didn't know how to word it right. Thanks.

Pfft, now I have this mental image of Betilla and the Magician as really socially awkward children who grew up to be awesome.

Kinda reminds me of that theory about the Magic School bus children growing up to be the kids.from.Captain Planet. Like socially awkward Arnold becoming awesomm

I just wrote something sort of relating to that on Tumblr.

When the Magician was a little kid, he was an awkward bookworm. When he grew up, he became and awesome bookworm. He spent a lot of time studying magic and other things with Betilla as a child and didn’t have many other friends, but in the end it paid off for both of them and they became very respected.

It was a response to a response I got from my self-assigned challenge to make a headcanon for any Rayman 1 character anyone sent me.

And now I'm thinking of Betilla and Magician having a frame with a photo of them both in Graduation Robes, to remember their time and struggle growing up and learning.

Awwww, now I'm imagining it too! :)

According to [laguage] with Rayman, the Magician earned his magician's diploma the same day as his cousin.

Both Pierre and Andrew, though in Pierre's case he says they 'graduated as magicians on the same day' if I recall correctly, but it's basically the same deal. I'm assuming the same goes for his other cousins.

Hey, wasn't another theory about Rayman's creation being that some of the parts to make him were dropped by the fairies? What if Polokus created an entire Valley of.people.just like Rayman so he wouldn't feel lonely or like a freak?

Hmmm, perhaps so! The story of Rayman's creation/origins seems... Sketchy, to say the least. R1 suggests he's a member of a specific species native to the Valley, R2 suggest no-one knows what he is or where he's from, the RO trailer suggests Betilla made him (And his limblessness was an accident), then the RO PSVita relic suggests Rayman was at some point bald. >_> Though the last one's probably not canon.

Well, my headcanon states that it's one of the ridiculous theories made by the Teensies, and isn't true, but that could be because I absolutely loathe that idea.
