I wasn't aiming for no damage.

And pretty much everyone gets hit by those anyway, especially when you're trying to get through the battle quickly. Hell, Haruka took way more damage than I did in the official RPC walkthrough.

And, to be honest, I don't really avoid taking damage all that much, since I just don't really see the point in making a massive effort to avoid it. Just manage your hitpoints and you're fine.

Ironically, the next time I've played after the walkthrough, I could pass Mr. Dark damageless so it was kinda sad.
