Rare Rayman Pictures

Then I guess we should trade the artworks then since it is already 3 common opinions.

EDIT: I just had a better look and I am now 99% sure it was a mistake. The picture that shows the purple combat fatigue, he is wearing glasses with the Grolgoth target screen textures so I do believe there are no doubts now that a mistake was made.
 
Seeing as the article is the only source we have about it, we ought to note that we're taking it as a mistake due to our prior observations.

I knew about that one (I hate Catastrox).

And the foursome.. it means the four players mode for the Dreamcast version.

Wait, this is an official ad? lol. I'm surprised they actually allowed that ad, then again, few Rayman games have always had some tints of adult themes in them at times.
 
I remember someone had the French version of this ad up somewhere before but I do think I recall the English one being advertised quite a fair bit in Dreamcast mags.

Do keep an eye out on OldGameMags BTW, chances are they may dig up some big gold not just with Rayman but in general.

Has this been posted before? Some Eric Pelatan background artwork for the TV series.

There's no way that picture is actually real...

the scary thing is I've never actually seen that photo of Rayman. I'm going to assume it's fanmade.
Seems they just used the Mario RPG sprite.
 
It's real, It's a private joke made in the Rayman 2 dev team. Michaël Guarné showed this picture on a french forum, he said he couldn't put it in his book "L'histoire de Rayman".
 
I always knew the dev team for the Rayman games (3 especially) always had sort of dark humor, I love that.

I know a lot of platforming mascots would compare themselves to Mario (A commercial for Ty the Tasminian tiger showed Mario in bandages at a hospital), this though... easy to see why this never went public, it's pretty funny though.
 
One thing is for sure: the facial expression in that picture is completely new in the R2 artwork.

That stood out to me more than Mario's head being squeezed was that new R2 artwork. Fascinating.
I'm going to assume that they had a little fun with Rayman after making that picture and threw Mario in there. I thought the image may be fanmade originally because of the unlikely scenario, but after seeing that new R2 artwork of Rayman, I figured at that point.
 
I didn't know what was "foursome", until I looked it up, time to clean my internet browsing history I guess.
 
You should never look random stuff up on the internet that you don't know! It's like one of the rules they teach in schools... I think it was the thirty-fourth one. If you don't trust me, just search "rule 34" and you'll see ;).
 
I'm not 2noob4internet, Rib! I basically know every (NOT REALLY) dark corner in the interwebz. Thank god I didn't see yet (?) the meatspin video.
