I sure hope so
It's nice popping in and seeing so many people whose names I recognise still around by the way <3
Edit: It's not nice to pop in and cringe at my old posts.

Re: Off Topic
Well there's some fields like climate change and net neutrality where a simple lack of action can be catastrophic indeed, but I meant in terms of foreign policy (and the “wars” we keep being warned against).Keane wrote:...but unfortunately he's more talk and less good policy substance, so he's kind of a disaster waiting to happen for net neutrality and everything similar, ironically something that the establishment would absolutely love about himcan't wait for our "anti-establishment" candidate to make a historically terrible decision and throw it out because he can't handle that people say bad things about him on the interwebs
That sucks, but this is far from over. It will keep happening because Western European countries have created the perfect conditions for this situation with their irresponsible immigration policies and incredible leniency towards extremism. Things aren't gonna get any better soon.Keane wrote:tfw brussels

Re: Off Topic
Ah Puruun joining the few old faces popping up? Welcome!
Re: Off Topic
Hi Serza
You mean there's more people saying hi?
Coming back here has been more of a feels trip than I expected.. Searching usernames of people that I used to know from here and then find posts of people they miss them. That made me sad. I guess that's how time travellers feel when they travel ahead in time.. Almost everyone you knew is gone and the people you see are strange and different, a new generation. I feel like a granny now :c Or a dinosaur.

Welcome back Puruun.
I think it looks cool. I wish you a good luck for making the final release of your helmet !incognito wrote:http://i.imgur.com/WPniGGJ.jpg
Off topic, here is an alpha release of my helmet, the final release will be way more close looking to my sig.
So any thoughts?
Re: Off Topic
Welcome back Puruun !
Also thanks for the feedback guys, I am currently gathering all the pars for the helmet, only one remains and is quite easy to find.
I'll probably start the making Saturday, I have to admit that I'm quite hyped, all the plans are ready, it will be basically the combination of the Alpha + my sig + the drawing I showed in the non Rayman related art topic.
Years of reflections will now come to something.

Re: Off Topic
Thanks guys! And now the doubt sets in.. Have you always had these names or did you change them? Is Harpic actually WC Canard?
What kind of immigration policy would you use if you were the leader hunch?Hunchman801 wrote:That sucks, but this is far from over. Re: Off Topic
Well it's a bit too late now! Over the past decades when our economic situation was prosperous we thought good to allow shitloads of unqualified immigrants to stay indefinitely, and to even bring their families with them! Unfortunately the growth stopped, jobs became scarce, many immigrants lost theirs, their wives never worked anyway and their kids struggled to find any. We were then left with a huge number of culturally alien, uneducated, unemployed, impoverished people with no prospects, but one huge mistake was no enough, so we then came up with the absurd idea of social housing, where we sent them all to the same buildings in the same districts, just to make sure they would not integrate themselves or mingle with other social classes.Puruun wrote:What kind of immigration policy would you use if you were the leader hunch?
This mixture of cultural difference, poverty and ghettoisation is what eventually resulted in the rise of extremism and terrorism in our countries.
So, what can we do now? Well we sure can't send them back, so we need to focus on integration, tear down social housing and scatter these people around the country. We also need to be extremely firm towards extremism but also towards community demands such as specials treatments for a certain religion. And last but not least, we need to put more energy and money into early education, because maybe the current generation is lost, but offering the next one better prospects will significantly reduce their propensity for violence.
Re: Off Topic
Yeah, I think ghettoisation plays a bigger role in forming extremism than people give credit for. It leads to victimhood which then paves very dangerous paths.
Then again, if you were on the lower end of the class system would you not want to live among people similarly situated on the scale? Likewise if you were middle to upper- would you be happy for a nice council block to be built on your estate? Probably not. That's making me think class and society are to blame and that ghettoisation is just an inevitable consequence of western culture.

Just don't build council blocks at all, they're an aberration. Implement guaranteed minimum income and let people take care of the rest.Xenon wrote:Likewise if you were middle to upper- would you be happy for a nice council block to be built on your estate? Probably not.
