Well, here is the pattern for apocalypse predictions so far:
1984
2000 - 16 years later
2012 - 12 years later

So, 8 years is the next step, making 2020.

< says that your logic dictates that people will start predicting a 2024 apocalypse when the 2020 one fails to occur
< says that the final step (of zero years) will occur at the same time as the 2024 apocalypse will be predicted to happen
< wonders if this pattern of apocalypse predictions throughout history is actually some sort of code telling us when the apocalypse will really happen (2024)
