Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros. - VOTE Rayman

So ya know that leak that revealed some of the characters early, but claimed there were more characters to come?

Turns out that second part was a lie. I was watching the stream OCG just linked above, and the player unlocked the entire roster (a notification is given when you do, and you unlock "True All-Star Mode"). It's everyone on that roster leak.

Just to get it out of the way, since deconfirmations aren't really spoilers IMO - Lucas, Ice Climbers, Wolf, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Snake are not playable. Nor are any of the characters that were cut in the jump between Melee and Brawl (except for Dr. Mario....ugh....).

That means that unless they announce DLC, Rayman, and any other character people were hoping for, like Ridley, are completely deconfirmed as playable characters.

I hope everyone else got their favourites. Rosalina, Palutena and Mega Man were among my most wanted characters for the game. Rosalina in particular, has been someone I wanted since the Brawl days, and is honestly the addition I least expected until very close to her reveal. Not only that, but Lumas are integrated heavily into her playstyle, and they are my favourite "race" character in Mario! So I'm extremely happy I got these characters.

I've wanted Professor Layton too, but I became doubtful for him after E3 anyway. And while I had some hope for Rayman after that trophy, it's not too big a deal (still annoyed that they tease us by putting him in the game as a trophy, though).

As for veterans, all of the cuts from Brawl are a little bittersweet, mostly Wolf, Ice Climbers, and Snake for me. But at least I got Sonic, Toon Link, Lucario, and Ike back (four I was worried about at some point).
 
Actually I'm really digging this roster, really satisfied with Megaman. He was my fucking man in Marvel Vs Capcom. I have the feeling many people are gonna be dissatisfied with all the Fire Emblem characters and Shulk. I haven't played a Fire Emblem game yet but I'm totally willing to get into the series. As for Xenoblade that's a must play for me at one point.
 
The only characters that directly bother me are Dr. Mario, Lucina, and Dark Pit.

Dr. Mario had absolutely no excuse to come back. He was cut from Brawl, and was the cloniest of clones in Melee, being a literal duplicate of a character on the roster. Project M made Dr. Mario an alt costume for Mario, sound effects, pills, and all. They could have done the same here.

Lucina and Dark Pit are a similar case. Though they are different in that they COULD have been completely different characters in how they play, and not have to be clones. They had potential for more standout playstyles. But they are clones.

And there is absolutely no excuse, because Alph from Pikmin 3 is four of Olimar's alt costumes, and the 7 Koopalings take up all of Bowser. Jr's alts. And their nametag changes and all, as well as the announcer saying their names.

The game will in my book probably be 9.6 out of 10.
No Rayman and these clone characters are reason.

I'm actually totally okay with Dark Pit as long as his move set is drastically changed. I highly doubt the clone characters would have anything to do with the decision of Rayman making it in or not.
 
I don't think clone characters are reason either but I dislike them still. I have a video I will make tomorrow with full explaination why I think Rayman is not in game playable.

That's my stance too, but the fact is, Dark Pit isn't very different at all. He's a straight up clone. Has a few different properties and that's it.
 
I like the roster, even if doesn't include Rayman. Don't know who to main as since this is my first Smash Bros game I own. I remember being good with Kirby.
 
Hmm, I've played Brawl in the past, but I'm not serious Smash. I'd probably just pick randomly, though given how much I've grown to love Metroid over the last few years, Samus is probably going to be a point of preference for me.

(Though I admit, I'm not fond of her Other M Varia Suit design, I've always found it too sleek, though Smash 4 definitely improves its colouration. That being said, I'd have preferred the Prime 2/3 Varia Suit design, it had a nice balance between having bulk and sleekness, which better conveyed its purpose as a suit of fortified armour and mobility)
 
Bought GC, Wii, Wii U, all just for Smash games. Learned L-cancel and bit of wave dashing in Melee. Got bored of it, so forgot it all. There's hacked Brawl (which by the way, has Rayman alts for characters

- no unique movesets though, which sucks) - people upload different hacks daily, there are hundreds of really well done alts, movesets and stages - after trying all this, the new smash tastes like water.

Anyways my buddy Jon Sakura has a Japanese 3DS and is doing a stream for Smash Bros now if anyone is interested.

Nah, but good news for me since I don't have my 3DS back from getting repaired.

Platinum Club Nintendo members should have it emailed- but it didn't email to me. Fucking Nintendo.
 
Yeah, and you get three spare codes if you get an email, so you can give them away.

I'm desperately trying to get an EU demo (the codes are region based). I nearly got one, since someone randomly posted their's in the open, but I was JUST beaten to the punch.

I swear, these things will be on eBay. And the worst part is that Nintendo have this demo ready, but they are just playing with their - aherm - Global Smash Power.
 
I got a code offered so I already tried out the demo. I'm really satisfied with the framerate, I didn't see any lag and I had the 3D on. :D
