Aha, nice introduction for them, though I can't say I like all of their future episodes.
Anyways, for now, we've had some glimpses of the filming of Series 8, but still no idea on his new costume.

[Hm, definitely not as outlandish as Eleven's dress, or Ten's sharp suit and tie. It looks far more sensible, yet I think it fits, feeling a bit of Pertwee in there with that red.]
 
He's looking fine, even though he's not wearing a bowtie, necktie, scarf or even a piece of salary.

Also Lego Cuusoo is lifting its ban on "Lego Doctor Who" pitches, so if your into Legos and like creating/voting in DW ideas, you can do that now (now only if they could also work out getting a LOZ license.)

Yeah, I've heard all three, though [Matt Smith won't actually appear as the Doctor, he's merely going to be heard over a telephone conversation Clara has, it's probable that he recorded those lines before he left].

[As for the new companion, I'm not really sure what to think yet, "Danny Pink" is a bit of a curious name though]

that's not what I meant! the article said he was a teacher in clara's school, and I may be stretching it but I doubt she sees the Doctor as a love interest.
 
I've heard the Mickey comparison made by a lot of people and his race is the only reason I can see for it. If you're going to bring his occupation into it, Ian Chesterton is a much better comparison. Clara admitted that she fancied the Doctor in the most recent episode, but of course that doesn't mean she can't be interested in someone else.
 
that's what I mean, a different love interest for Clara other than the Doctor! I wasn't trying to make a racist joke :lol:
 
Hm, it is interesting to see him in the current TARDIS interior, he don't look all that bad in there, does he?
I'd love to see him in more visual Doctor Who things as well, but in the meantime, I guess we have to see what the main eps are like with Capaldi.

This is especially what I liked - he already had his big whopping bang snap fizzle regen, but then somehow his body still needed to get used to a new regeneration cycle. And at the last moment, he was clinging to that Doctor, that moment when "the Doctor was me" - but he can't keep it up forever... snap. Capaldi.

My opinion on it has changed, I actually like it now, it's not a drawn out or melodramatic as Tennant's was, which I liked, as I personally felt that Tennant's was trying to amp up the tearjerker machine to excessive levels. Then again, Smith did that whole 5 minutes of pre-regeneration goodbyes, maybe it's just bias, but even then I felt Smith's final words were far more meaningful and heartfelt than Tennant's.

Other than that, Pretty much agree with what you said there, Shroobie.

I've been good, yes. It's actually been quite the rollercoaster since I stopped coming here - but it seems I'm back on track now. ;)

Fine and dandy, bored stiff with the long wait for Series 8. Besides that, same old, same old.
 
I suggest watching jon pertwee serials for when your bored, that's what I usually do.
 
Hmm, true that I should look back at some of the Classic Who serials sometime, it's an idea, I'll go check some out when I've got time.
 
I've been trying to get a hold on the older episodes, but it's really tricky, especially because they're only sold in separate installments. To add onto that, there's a bunch of missing episodes that have, at best, been reduced to conceptual artwork and radio-show voice overs as reconstruction, which is a bit... eh. I love radio shows, don't get me wrong, but if I'm sitting down to watch some Doctor Who, I want to be watching some Doctor Who, including all the silly costumes, fantastic music and brilliant - or not - acting that comes along with that.
