I didn't watch that movie... Shall I give it a go?
I've recently known they're releasing a new Saw movie. Am I the only one who finds them a bit overrated?

Yeah, it’s when a horror movie begins to focus on story is when it becomes bad

I am too! I should probably share more about the horror movies I watch. Gotta warn you though, nine times our of ten, they're utter crap.
Like the Evil Dead? :hap: I remember you mentioning that in relation to one of the bizarre dreams I posted in the relevant thread over on the French forum about nine years ago…

I say you have nothing to lose but an hour and a half! As for Saw, I thought the first one was pretty good, but after that it became repetitive and uninventive.

I think I actually enjoyed the Evil Dead movies, they're as much of a comedy as they are horror movies after all.

Fair enough! I wasn't sure if "film de n'importe quoi" was an insult or a neutral commentary! :P

Maybe I meant that it's all a bit ridiculous, but that's what makes it funny.

Anyway, I recently watched The Boogeyman (from 2023) and I thought it was a solid horror movie, mostly free of the pitfalls that plague the genre. There was still the occasional jumpscare and the nonsensical dream scene, but overall it's definitely better than 95% of its peers.

I really like this animation and how it is presented. Apparently it was based on this unused concept art from Little Nightmares II.

This is a kind of horror I'm not used to seeing, there is no sudden loud noise or jumpscare, just losing everything you know and having no home to return to, while you are in the presence of an entity beyond your comprehension.

At first I thought this was kind of goofy, but it might be even worse, if something like that just suddenly showed up and stayed there for days, just imagine the mass hysteria and people losing their minds, while being completely helpless to whatever is going to happen.

Interesting!
Fortunately if something like this was even remotely possible, there would be no time for mass hysteria, as the gravitational pull of such huge bodies in such proximity would simply yank planets out of orbit and possibly even rip them apart. :mryellow:

As far as being in the presence of an entity beyond your comprehension, the Behemoth from Stephen King's "The Mist" comes to mind.

It's true, in the first video the space whale was messing with the gravity (though, I have no idea how these things work). I wonder if the presense of a Planet Eater so close to the Earth, but not showing sings of gravitational pull, would freak people more, to have something that seemingly doesn't abide to the known rules of physics, exacerbating the fact this entity is completely beyond what we can comprehend.

Btw, I re-watched a clip from The Mist, and I just noticed the actress is the same one that appears on the X-Files.

That, and the naked giant planet eaters (huhuh) would probably collapse into themselves, wouldn't they? :oops2: There's a reason objects of such dimensions are all round...
