Not at all. It´s a lot of customizing and stuff like that, and some of the graphics and the menu system is similar, but all similarities stop there.
What really strikes me is the many stages you go through, every single one with a different gameplay. In the beginning you´re just a litte cell in a pool of water. You just eat, grow and survive. Then you evolve legs and a mind, and climb onto land and start socializing with other creatures, eat, evolve and gather parts to evolve further. Then you come to the Tribe-part, where the gameplay becomes kind of real-time-strategy-like. It keeps at until you´re done with the Civilization-stage. Then you take off to conquer Space, communicate with other intelligent beings, inhabit planets, fight Space-pirates, buy and sell spices and run errands and stuff. I don´t know what comes after the Space-stage though. I think I might be finished then, but from the looks of it, the Space-stage is mighty long.
It´s amazing.

I downloaded a Super Metroid ROM. You have to fight Ridley in the first level.

Super Metroid is on my greatest games of all time list. Though, the first Ridley fight is on a trigger. Once you run out of a certain amount of health, he just leaves, and you have to escape. It's just one of those "aw CRAP" moments in the game that turn out to be really REALLY good.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised (and relieved) when he suddenly flew away.

Just wait until you beat the game, man. :P

I honestly consider Super Metroid to be the Half-Life of its day, and I wish Nintendo kept the same story formula for all of their games, including Prime. I mean that by the story just being based souly on exploration with cutscenes only at the start and end. Metroid Prime 1 wasn't so bad with this, but 2 and 3..? Pssh. And then Fusion was pretty damn annoying when the story got in the way. :\

Eh, this game is tough. I've already had to fight 3 bosses. It's confusing too, but I like how you have to just explore everywhere. It took me a while to work out how to open the pink doors though. :(

One thing I fracking hate about Spore, is that when in Space, you have no map or anything like that, so if you have a set destination, you have to click on every single solar-system to figure out which one you´re supposed to go to. And it´s a damn lot of them. Urrrrgh.

What's awesome is that once you get a powerful enough beam, pink doors only require a fully charged shot. The same doesn't apply for green though.

In DK64, I'm now in the dreaded Creepy Castle. Ugh, this level is annoying. Also, the boss is fucking anti-climatic. I've always hated that boss, ever since I got to that level on a different file many years ago.

The sooner I'm done with this level, the better. But first, I want to do Donkey's mine cart ride in here before fighting the boss. Just because it's the only good part of the entire level.

I'm working on an Unreal Tournament 3 map. It was supposed to be deathmatch, though now I'm wondering if it could perhaps be worked into a capture-the-flag design.

I´m still playing Spore. And I realized that there´s this nifty little thing that marks which system you are supposed to go to/in which area you can find the system. Made things a lot easier.
Anyways I´m currently working on wiping out the entire Daedalon-race because they are some assholes and have been attacking and raiding my colonies on other planets for too long so I´m just getting rid of them. Once they even attacked my home-planet! The nerve!
I just have their home-planet left now but I´m going to do that tomorrow since I´m going to need some help from other races to take that one down.

1 Super Missile is needed for green and/or Pink.

That was a good fucking game. :bad:

I beat King K. Rool in DK64 for the first time in two years. Boy, replaying that was almost better than playing it before.

After solving lots hard puzzles, running away from scrabs, posessing a slig, killing a crapload of slogs and freeing the last three spirits, i finally managed to escape from the Scrab Vault in Abe's Exoddus. But then this annoying glitch happened inside the Paramite Vault. When i make Abe climb down, he automaticly climbes up again. And if i jump, i die. I'm stuck. Nothing to do. I have no chance to complete the game. No chance to move on. No place to go. It's really annoying! :pascontent:
